Area and Perimeter Reflection

1.What did you learn in this unit of maths? What do you know now that you
didn't know before?

I learned about how you could calculate the volume of a 3D shape by rst
doing length times width, that would equal the base. Then by multiplying the
base times the height, it would equal the volume. Now I know how to
calculate the volume, and I didn t know how to before. It looked a bit tricky
back then before this unit. It was confusing and I also couldn t understand it.

2.What was the most challenging aspect and how did you overcome this?

The most challenging aspect was dealing with all the zero s. It could be tricky
and make you confused with your answers. Luckily, our previous unit on
Long Multiplication helped me throughout, not only the assessment but also
the calculations before the end of this unit.

3.Which activity did you really enjoy and why?

I really enjoyed making our own little box and then measuring another box. it
was fun and challenging too. After we made our little boxes, me, Rickie and
Nick. Moved on to measure other boxes which I found out where were the
width and length of the boxes that we were measuring. Only then, I could
gure out which were the width and the length.

4.What do you think you still need to improve on?

I think I need to improve on remembering to estimate. Even though I

estimated in the assessment, I did it only when I was in the middle of the test
and after I did the calculations. So I was a bit worried that all my calculations
were wrong.

5.What is your condence rating for calculating volume? Be honest.

My condence rating of calculating the volume is 5/5. Even though I was a

bit nervous. I trusted myself and went on. I did doubt about my condence
when I remembered to estimate. But my calculations were all correct because
I checked them!
