SCHOOL OF THOUGHT IN
KASHMIR

INTRODUCTION

Islam is a major world religion that originated in the Middle East after Judaism
and Christianity.
Muhammad - (Peace be upon him): The founder and prophet of Islam,
Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Arabia in 570 A.C
The major achievements of Muhammad (pbuh) were the founding of a state
and religion.

He was politically successful, created a federation of Arab

tribes, and made the religion of Islam the basis of Arab unity.

Essentially, there are ve main Orthodox Muslim Schools of


Thought (known singularly as Madhab and collectively as
Madhahib) Jafari, Hana , Maliki, Sha 'i and Hanbali, named
after the Scholars or Imams who founded them
Barelwi, Deobhandi and Jamati islami Maslaqain (Sub-Schools)
are derived from the Hana Madhab (School of Thought).
Kashmir is the region were we can found people belonging to all
the sects of hanfiyah school of thought .

OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH

To provide insight about different sects of hanfiya school of thought in


Kashmir
Reasons of emergence of different sects
How different sects influnce the people of Kashmir
Role of different islamic sects in modifying cultural and social
economic conditions

The present generation is able to know the back ground of


emergence of different sects in hanfiya school of thought
Future generation will enrich through the modern islamic
education system
Awareness among the different sects of people

LIMITATIONS

Hesitation of the institutions run by different sects in
divuging their information
The study is mostly based on the information from
secondary data, which reduce the degree of reliability of
the study
