    Stereolithography is a 3D printing process that uses a laser to cure liquid resin into solid layers according to CAD data. The laser beam is directed by an optical scanning mirror to selectively cure thin layers of liquid photopolymer resin, building the 3D model from the bottom up. Support structures may be used to anchor overhanging surfaces of the model to the build platform and prevent floating layers during the curing process.
