MESOPOTAMIA

Mesopotamia was an ancient civilization that was located


around middle east between rivers of Tigris and Euphrates. Unli
ke Greek and Egypt. Mesopotamia is more likely the collection
of various culture. Mesopotamia also known as the cradle of civ
ilization because of their writing format and rise of their city.

SOCIAL CLASSES AND LABOR


Like other civilization, Sumerian has a separately social
classes and jobs. It can be separate into 4 classes .The king ma
inly controls his kingdom and people. Kings also make the law t
o control his people easier. The priest did the important ceremo
nies and controlled people to be in the way that god would be h
appy with. Normal people do anything that they want as long a
s that didnt interfere with the law. They usually work as black s
mith, artisan, do a trade and other. Slaves were usually doing a
hard labor work to serve the higher classes.

ARCHITECTURE

Sumerian architecture is one of the oldest


architecture in the world. Sumerian made urban planni
ng to organize the city and built palace for their monar
ch. Some of the Sumerian architecture was related to t
heir god too, for example Ziggurats.

ORGANIZED GOVERNMENT

The Government of Sumerian was not the fully


government. It was the government that combined mo
narchy with democracy. There was the monarch and no
bles who made the law, declared the war and decided h
ow they honor the god.

WRITING

Sumerian was the first civilization that have their own writing
system. It is called cuneiform. People of Sumerian used
cuneiform to contract to each other and note the important ev
ents.

PUBLIC WORK

One of the most important public works in


Sumerian is canal. Sumerian people used it for transpor
tation and brought water to the plantation fi eld. They a
lso dug dams to control water and constructed city wall
to protect them from enemies.

RELIGION

People in Sumerian believed that every natural event was


happened the action of god. They made religious constructions
to ceremonies and worship their god
