What Year was your Fox Born?

I know of Four different Fox Mak-Kart type (Satellite Seat) frame assemblies for the
years from 1961 through the end of production; there may be others. This is for the Fox
branded karts only.

1961 Fox Mak-Kart (2 frame assemblies)

1. The first production version has a flat welded in place front floor pan.
2. The second production version has a welded in place front pan that has stiffening ribs.
3. Distinguishing features are welded in place motor mounts, aluminum dome shaped fuel
tank with an approximate 2 flat on the rear, the front spindle brackets have square ends,
welded cross tube below the fuel tank, the throttle cross rod & brackets are above the
cross tube, Hands wheels for both versions and possibly Lemans wheels on late
production, welded steering shaft hub, two piece welded front bumper with short straight
and then bent up & 11 chrome & rubber grip steering wheel.
4. The frame weldment measures 15 from the rear of the frame tube to the point where
the seat hoop welds to the frame tube.

1962 & 1963 Fox Mak-Kart (1 frame assembly)

1. The distinguishing features are mounting tabs for swing mounts, see through fuel tank,
welded cross tube behind the fuel tank that the swing mounts bolt to, the throttle cross
rod & brackets (3) are below the cross tube, painted steel bolt in front floor pan early then
aluminum, splined steering shaft hub, 12 chrome and rubber grip steering wheel and the
front spindle brackets have rounded ends.
2. The frame weldment measures 16 from the rear of the frame tube to the point where
the seat hoop welds to the frame tube.

1964 and later production Box Mount Models (1 frame assembly)

1. The distinguishing features are tubes for box mount bushings, see through fuel tank, no
cross tube behind the fuel tank, small tubes for the throttle cross shaft on top of the
frame tube, aluminum bolt in front floor pan, splined steering hub, 12 chrome and
rubber grip steering wheel (later year models used the Azusa wheel) and the front spindle
brackets have round ends.
2. The frame weldment measures 16 from the rear of the frame tube to the point where
the seat hoop welds to the frame tube.
