November/December Region IV Newsletter

HELLO REGION 4!
I hope everyone is enjoying their school year thus far! Im
sure you are all staying busy, but keep in mind that regionals
are not that far away. My local adviser and I have made
plans to network with schools around region four to seek
opinions on entertainment and workshop preferences to
ensure that the 2015 Region 4 Leadership Conference will
be one to remember -- for all the right reasons. I have had a
blast representing Region 4 so far, and I look forward to
seeing many of you in just a few more months!

around the state.

The March of Dimes is FBLAs charity of choice. Its mission is to help moms have full-term pregnancies and
healthy babies. Because November is National Prematurity Awareness month, each chapter should be
doing everything it can to raise awareness and money for the March of Dimes. Some activities that can be
done are Miracle Moments, penny wars, and Bowling for Babies.
During RLC, we will be having a Miracle Moment.

pleasure of listening to Shannon Oleens constructive and

interactive presentation. One moment she was stressing the
importance of using social media responsibly in order to manage it
as a beneficial tool and to better our own personal brand, and the
next she had a handful of the audience upfront learning how to
properly do the NFL cheerleader hair-flip. At the end of the day, I
believe everyone went home learning something.

NFLC recap at Minneapolis

The National Fall Leadership Conference in Minneapolis was the largest
of the 2014 NFLC with over 2000 attendees! The weekend was full of
powerful keynotes and educational workshops. Two of the workshops
were actually presented by Wisconsin State Officers. Besides workshops,
those in attendance had the opportunities to tour the Twin Cities metro
area and/or enjoy the luxuries of shopping at the largest mall in America.
Twenty-nine Wisconsin FBLA chapters attended the conference.

Dress for Success

Advisers will receive four tickets to hand out to the best dressed students at the
Regional Leadership Conference. Two should be handed out within your own
chapter, and two should be handed out amongst other chapters. Tickets will be
returned to baskets at the registration table prior to the award ceremony, where one
male and one female winner will be drawn. They will each win a $10 gift card.
