ChE 325 Statistics/Viscosity Tutorial Questions

Answer the following questions in paragraph format. You may need to use your analyzed
data to completely answer the question. Total = 50 points
1. (10 points) What are the basic principles involved in this particular experiment?
(i.e., what fundamentals of fluid flow do you need to understand to properly
analyze what is taking place?
2. (10 points) Discuss the assumptions made during data analysis and their
significance.
3. (20 points) Attach relevant plots of the experimental data. Discuss your results
for each of the systems (glycerol or ethylene glycol) and compare results for the
different cases (i.e., different spindles).
4. (5 points) Compare the values of viscosity of each of these substances that you
have found to the values found in the literature (Perrys, textbook, etc.). Do they
match? What might account for any differences?
5. (5 points) Summarize your findings. Be sure the questions above are addressed.
