Assignment 1

Task
The purpose of this assignment is to incorporate the concepts learned in class to a real life
situation. The final product should be bounded, and it is recommended that you use creative
graphics, color, outlines, headings, proof read and spell check, etc. You are required to
complete the assignment solely on your own and it should be an original piece of work. If the
explanations and arguments in your writing require you to draw material from other sources,
then you must provide proper citations. Please be reminded that plagiarism in any form is strictly
prohibited. You are required to address the following task:

Task
The rise and fall of organizations depend on how well they are managed. Good management
includes Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. Explain how these four elements of
management are applied in the organization where you work or an organization that you know
of. You will need to explain every element and its application in the organization of your choice.

Note on Assignments/Presentations: Prepare a 10-page report with an approximate word


count of 2500 words. The assignment must be presented in an appropriately professional style.
Assignment is to be typed (12 font, times new roman or 11 Ariel font, all 1 margins, title page
with name, date and course title) and should contain no surface errors (e.g. misspelled or
inappropriate words, slang, jargon, poor grammar, etc.). Students need to display the ability to
use proper referencing. Please use the APA (American Psychological Association) referencing
style. Information regarding the APA can be found on the Internet. Please use search engines to
find materials regarding APA.
