INVESTMENT COMMENTARY
The year on year inflation rate declined for the second consecutive month to
settle at 6.4% from 6.6% in September mostly from lower food, energy and
transport costs. Food prices registered a 0.5% decline during the month while
housing and electricity costs decreased by 0.2% which led to a -0.2% monthon-month inflation performance.
The 364 day T-Bill continued to see increased demand throughout the month
compared to the 91 day and the 182 day T-Bill indicating that most investors
expect interest rates to be low and contained in line with the inflation rate
expectations. The month was also characterised by increased liquidity from
the high maturities from various corporate bonds. The interbank liquidity has
remained relatively high during the month.

INVESTMENT OBJECTIVES
The Old Mutual Money Market Fund is designed for investors with a low risk
appetite and a need for security of principal with an objective of providing a
yield in excess of that available in savings accounts and other bank accounts.
The Fund invests in Treasury Bills, Treasury Bonds, Corporate Notes, Fixed
Deposits and Cash on Call Deposits.
Money Market Fund offers immediate liquidity allowing investors easy access
to their funds within a few days in contrast to fixed (term) deposits, saving
accounts and Treasury bills where you must wait for the investment to mature.
The Funds benchmark is the 182 day Treasury Bill.
Income distribution is paid monthly and can be reinvested into the purchase of
additional units upon request.
The Fund is valued on a daily basis and the yield is available in the national
papers or from Old Mutual on the contacts provided below. In addition free

The 364 day T-Bill has continued to see increased demand throughout the
month compared to the 91 day and the 182 day T-Bill indicating that most
investors expect interest rates to be low and contained in line with the inflation
rate expectations. The Central Bank is seeking to raise KES 15.0bn, in the first
tranche of the KES 35bn Infrastructure bond through a tap sale offer of a 12
year infrastructure bond with an 11% coupon rate from 28th October 2014 to
20th November 2014.
As such, the outlook for interest bearing assets remains favourable in the
medium term as rates remain relatively high and are expected to be stable
while continuing to deliver income in the form of interest payments.
INVESTMENT OBJECTIVES
The Old Mutual Bond Fund Is designed for investors with a medium term
investment horizon with an objective of providing a reasonable total return by
way of capital growth and an income return.
Income distribution is paid quarterly and can be used to purchase additional
units upon request to enhance returns through compounded growth.
The Fund invests in Treasury Bonds, Corporate Notes, Fixed Deposits and
Cash on Call Deposits.
We envisage that Bond Fund over the medium to long term will provide a
return in excess of that achievable by holding saving deposit accounts or
treasury bills.
The Funds benchmark is the 182 day Treasury Bill plus 2%.
