YEAR 10/11/12 CAS CHECKLIST/GUIDELINES FOR SUCCESS COACHES AND

STUDENTS
Student Name: ________________________________________ Success Coach:
_______________________ Success Group: _____
Procedures
Form is to be completed by Success Coach in conjunction with student while checking the CAS portfolio on
Managebac.
Success Coach should keep a copy and forward a copy to the CAS Co-ordinator upon completion of portfolio in Year 12.
Success Coach must contact parents by email (copy on One School) if student fails to meet ANY of the deadlines.
CAS Co-ordinator to be notified at either Year 12 checkpoint if student is at risk and will forward letter home.
CAS Portfolio Requirements
Student must indicate 6 substantial activities of > 15 hours each and 1 semester leadership project of > 30 hours.
Students are strongly discouraged from combining activities. This does not meet the CAS requirement of perseverance and
commitment and
student needs a supervisor report for each activity.
Hours, number of IN-DEPTH reflections and number of items of evidence must be entered.
Reflections cannot simply be a list of events. Student is expected to reflect on what the activity did for them.
Tick if supervisor report has been provided.
Non-supervising teachers may write a SR ONLY if the student is genuinely unable to obtain one from an external supervisor.
Comment on what needs to be done to meet CAS requirements at that stage.

For this activity I was requested to be part of a fellow QACi students French New Wave film. This was a useful involment for me because I gain insight into how student
planned and conducted their production which I could then apply or learn from to improve my own film productions in the future. For the first scene I was directed to sit at a
cafe and act angry talking on a mobile phone while the main actor essentially stole my coffee without me noticing. Shooting was quite a new experience
