Do violent video games cause kids to be violent:
Every day young men across the world are spending hours killing, maiming and engaging
in all manner of violent antisocial behavior-virtually. (Essential Facts About Games and
Violence) But a common, controversial question comes to the minds of parents, teachers and
guardians around the U.S.- do these games cause kids to be violent?
Some people may think that role playing violent video games are teaching kids to be
violent. A host of respected researchers found no link .Numerous studies have attempted to find a
link between violent video games and real life aggression. They have not yet found a link. There
is no way to prove that kids who play violent video games cause trauma in the real world.

Violent Crime particularly among the youth has decreased dramatically since the early
1990s. During the same period of time, video games have steadily increased in popularity.

supreme court and the federal trade commision examined scientific records and found that it does
not establish any casual link between violent programming and violent behavior. (Essential Facts

An analysis by the Washington post stated that the 10 largest video game markets across
the globe found no statistical correlation between video game consumption and gun related
death. (Essential Facts About Games and Violence) In the role played game killer students are

ordered on who to kill and how to do it. (Martin.) Teens that roleplay vicious video games
pretend to kill and hurt their peers based on the video game that they are roleplaying. For
example if in a game a certain player gets shot then that player in the simulated game gets
shot. The students dont choose who they kill or how they do it.
A recent study from the social science research network plotted the acts of violent crimes
against the sales of big console games on a week by week basis between 2005-2008. The
researchers concluded that the release of major video games caused the crime rate to go down.

In conclusion, role playing violent video games do not cause kids to be violent.
Researchers have found no correlation between video game violence and real - world aggression.
Also, in games, including killer, students get ordered on who to kill and how to do it. Plus, the
kids are using fake swords, guns and water pistols. Kids roleplaying games are being active,
using resources and having fun! Although people think violent video games cause kids to be
brutal, multiple sources have proven this wrong. Role playing violent video games does not
cause kids to be violent.
