COLD/WIRE DRAWING

Starts with bar of H.R.S. 0,8 - 1,6 mm larger than final size
required.
HRS bar pickled, washed and coated with lime and other
lubricants.
Front end of bar then tapered
Tapered end of bar pushed through die and puller tongs pulls bar
through die.
Pulling force must be lower than yield point of wire.
Note:
Amount of reduction must not be great enough to require pulling
force greater than final product can withstand.
