Clastic: weathered rock and mineral particles

Classified by size coarse, medium, fine grained

Features: rounding & sorting

Nonclastic: Chemical or bio-chemical particles

Classified by composition carbonate, silicate, oxides, organic

Sedimentary Rocks: Clastic & nonclastic sediments that are deposited,


compacted, then lithified.
