PART I:
HERE WE GO!
Keep it simple and duplicatable.
Real estate says
location, location, location- In Arbonne, it is duplication,
duplication, duplication. Duplicate the steps to success
and you will reach your goal. Do what others above you
did and you will get to where they are. Do it differently
and you will end up somewhere else.
TO MAKE
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, YOU FOLLOW THE RECIPE!
ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! WE FOLLOW THE RECIPE.
To know what you want, you need to ask yourself
questions. You need to clarify. Get a clear picture of what
you want and visualize how to get there.
1st 30 days- where do you see yourself? Do you see it as
part time? Full time? Extra income or big money? With
Arbonne
you
have
unlimited
income
potential.
Supplemental income can be had just by recommending
the products to people you know.
Is this a business or a hobby? Its all up to you. You are in
business for yourself. If you cant afford business aids
and products, then wait and save up until you can do it
right. You need to set yourself up for success.
First 10 days- Jumpstart your business. Who will you
contact in the first 10 days? Make your 100 person list
(see below) then choose 5 a day, and commit to calling
them. Dont prejudge who will want to hear about it
--dont deny people the right to choose for themselves.
They deserve to hear about Arbonne and make an
informed decision whether it is right for them or not.
Many people start just using the products and months
later decide to do a business. You never know.

Start with a calendar. Write in your personal time, your


current income producing job and then you will see
where you can do your Arbonne biz- in nooks and
crannies. Color code the calendar to help make it easier
to see what you are doing. Write the name, phone
number and time of day you are going to call people.
Stick to it. Treat this like a multi million dollar biz. What
have you got to lose? Go to work every day- be an
employee of yourself.
Set up a workspace. Decide where you are going to do
your business. Its important to carve out a space at
home and pretend you have gone to the office. Reward
yourself after each call. Take a break and you like to do
for 10 minutes. Work for 20 min and reward yourself for
10 minutes.
What is your WHY? What do you want in your life that
you dont have now, that has motivated you to say yes to
Arbonne? Is it financial security, more time with your
family, a way to provide for the kids college, a way to
share healthier options? Articulate it honestly. YOU ARE
GOING TO SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY.
Write it down and decorate your workspace with
reminders. Use pictures and symbols- whatever it takes.
Or try this: write down 21 reasons why you want to
succeed so that you have more reasons to stay in the biz
than reasons to quit.
What is your dream? How much money do you want to
make? What attracted you to Arbonne? What will you do
with more money? Be specific!
What products have you ordered that you will share with
people? If you have already tried the products, what new
ones will you try?
Steps to success:
Become a product of the product. Sharing testimonials

are the best form of advertising.

In your sign up month only (your start month)-you get a

free product with $150 SRP order-Make sure everyone


who orders this amount (or more) gets their free
product! Never leave anything on the table!
Arbonnize your home.

Ways to redirect your spendingbuy vitamins from yourself, weight loss, make-up, etc.
When people ask you how the shampoo is, be able to tell
and show them!!!
Make a list of 100 people- friends, family neighbors- this

is your CONNECTOR LIST. These will be people that you


will contact that may be interested in your business or
may know people that would be interested.

Identify 5 key people who would be good biz partners.

You get to choose! Who are the 5 you trust the most, like
the most- could have fun with? List each one and state
why you thought of them. This is your dream team.
Set your goals- 30-60 and 90 Day goals. Write down your

monthly goals- 85% of people who write goals achieve


themthen write your weekly goals. Then your daily
goals.
Try to do a launch in the 1st week. Or pick a week ASAP

that you want to launch your business and do it. Your


sponsor will help you. To have a successful launch you
need to have business aids- a complete Curiosity Folder
for each guest. Sell sheets, full size products- NOT just
samples. (Remember that we do not make a commission
on business aids and they do not count towards your
volume.)
Each person who is serious about the business and

attends your launch should walk out with a complete


folder.
Get into revenue producing activity. Start talking. The

more you do this the faster you will grow. Do one-onones or group presentations. A presentation can be with
1 person or a group. What is most comfortable for you?

Gradually you will get more comfortable. Schedule 4-6


one on ones a week. If you can manage 6-10 group
presentations a month that is a better way to leverage
your time. A major factor to being successful is knowing
you are doing something FOR people not TO them. Dont
be apologetic or afraid. Pretend you have a $10,000
check for them. If they say no. so what?....Next!
Dont worry if you hear no. Just keep talking to people.
There are 52 cards in a deck of cards and only 4 aces.
Every time you turn over a 2, a Jack, etc. you are getting
closer to an ace. Same with this business. Go for NO
and see what happens!
Start with the 5 key people you identified. Then begin

calling A people and B, etc. You can tell them what you
are doing and that you are asking for their support.
Would they be willing to host a presentation? Be
excited!!! Tell them your WHY. I am calling because I
have started a new business and I am really excited
about it. I know you know a lot of people and I thought of
you. You would be great at this! Tell them why you
thought of them (you are smart, you are great with
people, etc) People will be flattered you thought of
them.
Plan how much time a day you can spend. The more you

do, the more likely you are to grow your business.


Schedule this activity every 30 days. YOU MUST DO YOUR
BUSINESS PART TIME OR MORE, IT WONT WORK IF YOU
DO IT SOMETIMES!
Stay in touch with your sponsor. Get us on 3 way calls!!!

Ask for help!!


3 way calls are the cornerstone to starting your

business-make sure you are doing at least 2-5 a week.


Attend meetings- over the phone, in person. Try to get to

events. Learn from people who are successful.


Go to Arbonne University and do the following modules:

Product Knowledge
Stepping Up to Management
Leadership Training
Personal Growth and Development

Do Learn and Burns- over the Arbonne University or have

them sent to you in the mail for $5 a month. These are


recorded by Arbonnes top money earners who offer their
tips and experience so that we dont make the mistakes
they did.
Ask yourself:

Am I committed?
Do I have specific goals?
Have I shared them with my friends and family?
Am I leading by example?
Am I painting a picture for my team and myself each
month?
Am I sponsoring a minimum of 5 new $150
consultants a month?
Am I being consistent in sales, sponsoring and
training?
Do I embrace change that encourages personal
growth?

By honestly asking and answering these questions, you


will find out how serious you are. Becoming committed
in your behavior in everyday life will get you closer to
achieving your goals
IMPORTANT TIPS:

though you may just be starting your business, and you
may be sharing someone elses success story, people are
going to feel your commitment.
Have FACTS and personal reasons that you can share and

provide to support this.


Your story will change and
evolve over time. REMEMBER, its not what you say- its
how you say it!

The best stories involve a dream and involve


overcoming adversity to achieve it. Be honest about
yours and those of the people you know about.

ACT AS IF: if you believe you are a National VP then


you will act that way. If you expect people to join your
team then they need to believe in you.

THE FORTUNE IS IN THE FOLLOW UP:

call everyone the


next day to thank them for coming to a launch or
meeting with you and GENTLY follow up to see if they
want to hear more about the business, etc.
NOTE:
2% of the people who will join your business will join

upon hearing about it the 1st time


3% will join on the 2nd listen
5% will join on the 3rd listen
10% will join on the 4th listen
80% will join on the 5th to 12th listen
Follow up gently and leave the door opened to follow
up again.

REMEMBER, ITS NOT ABOUT YOU, ITS ABOUT THEM!!!!


ALSO REMEMBER, A PROPHET IS OFTEN NOT KNOWN IN
THEIR OWN HOME- THATS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT 3
WAY CALLS ARE SO IMPORTANT.
Create a 10 second commercial- Why would someone

want to hear about Arbonne? Use humor and drama to


uncover a need and offer a solution. This should highlight
the key points in your I story and include your why.
Tailor to the persons need. If someone wants to spend
time with kids at home and you can show her that she
can do that- thats your 10 second commercial. Find Eye
On Arbonnes of stay at home moms to share with them.
30 Second commercial- If they seem interested in the 10

second version, then present an abbreviated version of


the Arbonne Opportunity. Tell those benefits, reason to
believe and dramatic differences in peoples lives.

Request a 3rd party referral and say that you will give
them a free product if they will host a presentation for
you.
Pull from the facts beow to make your 10 or 30 second
commercial. Offer a fact or two, pause and let people
digest the information, ask them if they have any
questions.
LESS IS MORE. DRIP, DONT VOMIT!
PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO BE SOLD, THEY WANT TO BUY.
If someone pulls back hard, immediately change the
subject. If they pull back with a slight hesitation, ask
them questions.
LEARN HOW TO USE DO YOU KNOW HOW LANGUAGE .
If someone asks what you are doing or how you are
ANSWER:

DO YOU KNOW HOW everyone is worried about the
global economy and where we are going to be in 5 years?
After the person responds YES, you say.WELL, I
SHOW PEOPLE HOW THEY CAN BUILD A HOME BASED,
PART TIME BUSINESS, THAT WILL CREATE A SUBSTANTIAL
ADDITIONAL INCOME STREAM

response)
If the person responds with curiosity tell them a little bit
about Arbonne, first by asking, have you ever heard of
Arbonne? Drop a few details from the below list. LISTEN
to the response. Make a date to talk about it further if
they are interested. They will let you know if they want
to know more or are not interested at all.

We give things away and have people redirect their
current spending. No more CVS, Macys, Bloomingdales,
etc.
We all buy from ourselves. Arbonnize your home! This

will familiarize you with products, help you identify your


favorites, and of course, keep you safer, healthier and
more vibrant.
Notes: Many people have fears of rejection and
resistance to talking to people. If necessary, practice role
playing in front of the mirror. Ask a friend to help you by
listening to your presentation and giving you feedback.
(OR Ask ME to listen and get MY feedback. )
Remember that no one wants to be sold, but everyone
wants to buy.
Be sincere when you talk to people. Tell them the truth
about why you are doing this and what you have heard
about the growth of the company and how well people
are doing.- even if it hasnt happened for you personally
yet!
Tell Sue Cassidys story, Aldis Higgins story, or look at
the Eye on Arbonne (EOA) stories on the website and find
one that resonates for you. That is why they are there- to
help you.
Then share the reason why you are doing this biz. Make
it something that people can relate to. Is your kid going
off to college? Does your husband want to retire? Do you
want an exit strategy from a job you hate?
If you keep doing what you are doing now- where will you
be in 5 years? The time is going to pass whether you do
this or not and the company is going to explode with or

without you- tell that to people. If someone lost their job


tomorrow, how long would they last on their savings?
Now is the time to start building an insurance policywhere no one has to get sick or die to get paid.
When you share the opportunity and the products with
an attitude that people deserve to hear about this and
make an educated decision for themselves, then you are
not selling them. Dont prejudge anyone. You are simply
informing them that you have started a new business
and that if they want to know more, you would be happy
to tell them because you think it is like the ground floor
of Google.
Listen to yourself talk. Are you starting your
conversation with an apology? Are you talking like you
have just won the lottery? Big difference!!!
HERE ARE SOME WAYS WE SUGGEST SPEAKING TO
PEOPLE:
If you are not face to face with someone, PHONE WORKS
BEST BY FAR! E-mail a distant second. Text last.
ONE ON ONES: Make an appt for coffee- drip dont vomit.

Take a lotion (or similar) with you and a sample strip. If it


is a person you know well- take an RE9 Kit. Do Results
Approach.
Re9 Kits are the foundation of your business. Use them-

give them out as testers. Go onto the web site and order
the tester stickers. Leave the kits at doctors officestake a gift to the office manager. Ask them to pass the kit
around to the staff and try the prod for 3 days and you
will be back to get it.
GROUP PRESENTATIONS: Invite people to a presentation

to launch your business. As people walk in, hand each


one a Curiosity Folder. Make sure you have enough for
each guest. Get Sponsor to be there or on the speaker
phone. The goal is to find business builders, but make
sure you people know there are 3 ways to be involved.

Include

your why story- at least of the


presentation
Arbonne and what makes it different- #1 Direct Sales
Organization of America, most people in industry
making six figure income, no animal testing, PURE,
SAFE, BOTANICAL.
You should NOT try to do this without your sponsors
help until you know what you are saying and why. As
your team grows and you grow more confident, offer
to do the presentation for your new consultants.
Take people to Arbonne meetings in your city or town. All

Arbonne meetings are open to anyone.


GET ON THREE WAY CALLS! Dont feel you have to know

what to say yet! Simply have other people there who


have been doing the business - like your upline.

Introduce yourself. Have people introduce themselves.
Thank

the hostess and give her a Salt Scrub (or


similar!) . Tell guests that they will get one too if they
host a presentation. Have hostess say a few words about
why she invited them.
Tell them what you are going to do:

Im going to tell
you about me, about Arbonne and what is different about
it and let you try products.
Tell people that you are currently expanding your team
and you are looking for people you can teach and train to
do what you do. Tell them about the 35% discount, time
leveraging, tax advantages and the Mercedes.
Your story is the most important part of the presentation.
Tell them about products- PH Correct, botanically based.
Hypoallergenic. blind Dermatologist tested. No animal
testing or byproducts, no mineral oils. Do the Product

Modules on the Arb. University so that you can answer


questions.
If someone is only interested in Retail, then send them to
Arbonne Website with your ID and have them order prods
under your ID or offer to do it for them. You will be paid a
commission on the full retail purchase.
Follow up is key. 3 days, 3 weeks- 3 months. Keep your
clients happy. Develop a relationship with them and they
may turn into business builders one day. Dont be
surprised, as more and more people start hearing about
and accepting that Multi Level Marketing is the thing
to do in the 21st Century.
Remember how we all laughed at and were suspicious of
people who were in this industry years ago? Dont you
wish you had listened then?

LANGUAGE FOR AN IDEAL ORDER

GIVE

THE

Let people know that there is an ideal order that will


provide you with all of the tools that you need to build
and fast track your business. We equate it to a plumber
and his tool box.
It makes it much easier to fix a sink and do a great job if
you have your tools. However, depending on the person
that you are speaking with you might want to let them
know that you have done orders of all sizes, ideal and not
so ideal... and that you will help anyone get started in
their business, its just that its harder if you start with
half a toolbox. KEEP REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS!
When making your first business order, it will include
items to Arbonnize your home, and a representation of
our flag ship products along with 4-8 gold bags. We
teach you how to do the gold bag presentation to
introduce the anti aging products and the rest of the
order is to give away or have for people to touch, feel,
smell etc.

If you make close to the ideal order, you will go,


immediately, into District Manager qualification and you
will have all of the tools you need to fast track your
business.
Decide what YOU want to do and equip yourself
appropriately. MAKE CERTAIN that when helping someone
make their first order that they understand there are 3
goals:
a) arbonnize their home
b)
order their tools (gold bags etc)
c) if they are on a limited budget make certain they
understand what it takes to go into District Manager
qualification. Try to at least make that happen in the
first order.

PART III: CONTACTS


Making contacts is the foundation of your success. You
dont know when that new contact might join your team
and become a superstar!
This business is called NETWORK marketing. We network
with the people we know to see who is interested in the
business, or in purchasing products. And perhaps some
of your business builders, and clients, will come from
your
existing
network
of
friends,
family
and
acquaintances.
But the larger part will almost assuredly come from
OTHER PEOPLES networks -- THEIR friends, family and

acquaintances. To succeed, We need to reach in - gently,


respectfully and out of an ethos of service - to other
peoples networks.
We all have our own fears about making contact with
people we dont know. If you dont have those fears,
then you are not stretching your comfort zone (picture
the elastic ring around you).
THIS IS NOT ABOUT going out and talking to strangers or
going out and looking for potential people to be on your
team all you need to ask of yourselves, Are you willing
to be a bright spot in someones day?
3 foot rule: warm up the area 3 feet around you. Be that
bright spot! Many people are always the bright spot, but
for others, it ranges from bright total discomfort-its so
easy to make your self memorableSMILE! HOLD THE
DOOR open for a mom with a baby carriage, PICK UP the
pen when someone else drops it on the grocery line or
the train ticket counter. ITS ALL ABOUT YOUR ATTITUDE.
AND: ITS ALL ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON! Is there
something that they need or want (a more secure
financial future, a way off the corporate treadmill, or
maybe just great skincare) that you can help them with?
Sharing this business and these products is a wonderful,
generous thing to do. It may be the key to someone
elses financial security and personal growth. No biggie,
not scary, maybe a little bit out of your comfort zone, but
not much.
Little by little you, will become more comfortable moving
a little further out of your comfort zone. A smile might
turn into a conversation.
You will begin to clearly
identify the people that want to talk.
It might sound like thisyou are standing in a security
line at an airport and someone has to throw out their
coffee or some of their products and they look over to
you and say, I cant believe I forgot again! Or it might
sound likehave you ever had the sandwiches here? I

love starbucks for coffee but Im not sure about the food?
Thats someone who gets a good vibe from you and
wants to talk.
LEARN TO IDENTIFY THISyou might
answer that person, yes, last time when I was running
late for my plane on the way to my corporate meetings, I
grabbed a sandwich and it was great. That might be the
end of the conversation or you might say, so are you
heading home, vacation, business?
Take it from thereITS ABOUT THEM. ITS NOT ABOUT
YOU.
Remember that.
YOU HAVE SOMETHING GREAT TO OFFER THEM, IF THEY
WANT IT AND IF THE TIME IS RIGHT, ETC. they will give
you a clue. Do not feel that you have to talk about your
business right away. YOU DONT.
Look at it as a date. You met, you have a nice encounter,
maybe you want to exchange contact info and grab a cup
of coffee sometime, or maybe you will call them and then
have a business conversation. maybe if its the right time
to try the Do you know howtry saying, when she/he
asks you what you do, sayDO YOU KNOW HOWwell
this is what I do.
DONT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT ANYONE. You dont
know how your behavior might be impacting someone
else. DONT TAKE it personally is someone isnt kind
back to you. Maybe their day was horrible. Maybe they
have a sick child.
Circulate and cultivate-if you go to where you always go
you will see the people that you always see... so go to
different places.
Go into the bank, dont go to the drive-up, bring your
Arbonne crmes to the nail salon to have them use on
you, bring your shampoo to your hair salon.
Become a friend finding magnet-dont go out to look for
people for your team, look for nice people and pay
sincere compliments, make someones day be nice!

Learn to work a room. Example: great waitressthank


her and let her know that you are always looking for
people to join your team who are great at customer
service. Tell her she is the type of person that you are
looking for. Im in a people business and you would be
excellent at it.
Have you ever thought of doing
something different? Look for the people that want to
talk to you. Make a statement, and then ask a question.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
You cant control someones response
You can only control yours
We

want to try and make the people that we are


speaking with comfortable.
This is not about making a meeting, sale, recruit, etc.

This is about qualifying someone, someone who wants to


hear what you have to say.
What are you communicating when you make a contact?
verbal and body language-check it
results stem directly from your attitude towards making

contact
its not about the words, its about the attitude
If you are really focused on the other person than it

doesnt matter what you say. They will respond to the


tone of your voice.
Genuine interest of getting to know the person will never

seem pushy
Result: have they been comfortable around you? Respect
them and you will. build trust. Be present. You will find
yourself a better person through all of this.

Relationship building takes time. Its the result of trust,


and knowing that you have had that persons best
interest at heart. Most people dont figure that out
when they first meet you. Trust comes from on going
follow-up COMPARE IT TO A FIRST DATE!
When you are doing a follow up call, remember they
invited you to call them. What you need to let them
know is you are there when they need your service,
when there is something in their life where you can
provide a benefit.
Do not wait for them to call you. They may not call
because of a variety of reasons. They arent ready, they
are busy, its not important to them yet. So, you have to
do the follow up, and simply let them begin to see how
professional and trust worthy you are.
IF YOU MADE 4 FOLLOW UP CONTACTS AND QUIT THERE,
YOU HAVE PRIMED THAT PERSON TO SAY YES! WHAT A
SHAME IF ITS YES TO SOMEONE ELSE, AND NOT YOU!
Make follow up part of your business routine. The fortune
is in the follow up!

Its all about timing: their timing, not yours!
you cant rush the relationship
some people are slow, some are more impulsive
make sure that your name and your business stays
visible to them
Keep notes somewhere, you blackberry, note cards, this
will help to remind you about your last conversation with
them, maybe what there objections, fears, or concerns
were.

Suggestions for Follow up line could be as simple as:


I was thinking of you I was just in the middle of my
Arbonne hour today, if there is anything you need feel
free to call me back, (insert your phone number here), if
not, Ill be in touch again.

Be reliable and be interested in what they need.

another. Ask the clarifying question... would you like to
go very slowly and have a party or maybe are you
worried that you wont have time, or that you cant
picture yourself in this business If this is something that
you could fit into your schedule, would you be

No is often a default answer, showing someone doesnt
have the time to consider it or doesnt trust you yet.
Concerns, hesitations, and objections are a good sign. No
one expresses a concern unless they have been
considering it.
How do react:
If someone says no I dont know enough people. YOU
might say, a lot of times people are worried about that,
but what we do is help you think and we brainstorm
together and bring all kinds of ideas about all of the
