2 Different Poems on the Test (poems we have not studied in class)

Possible Authors: Dickinson, Frost, Hughes, Whitman
10 Short Answer for Each Poem (20 Total):

Questions will cover Literary Devices such as personification,

similes, metaphors, allusion, imagery, point of view, alliteration,
setting, theme, and tone
-Youll be asked to identify these in the poems and
explain their significance
-Youll be asked to answer questions about the overall
meaning of the poem
Contemporary Author Question
-Comment on their writing style, techniques, and the literary
devices he/she usesRefer back to the explanation for each
author on your instructions
