The koala

The koala,the tree hugger as fast as

a monkey swiftly swinging through
the trees the life he had but no longer .

The koala captured,caught in a bag

struggling to be freed,traumatised
for life living in fear in case he is
captured again.

Koala like a bear walks,runs,eats,drinks

free in the wild but not this one
he is a trapped prisoner behind bars .

Trapped, trapped until the day he is freed

the koala sitting in a tree with a crowd of
people standing watching .

He rarely moves, he is like a stuffed teddy

just sitting there cute fluffy but still.

Finally he is free, back in the wild but

his family
were not there, they had gone
his family had gone forever.

In the wild, with the forest surrounding him

wind blowing through his fur he was an old koala
eats drinks sleeps dies .

suddenly he woke up and saw a crowd of koalas

he ran through the trees to reach them there
was his family standing there so together they
walked off into the sunset
