From the
Believe it or not, we're already finalizing the fall course schedule, and I wanted to give you a heads up
on some of the new Honors seminars we'll be offering. In addition to the new ones, we'll also be reprising some old favorites and continue to offer some of most popular courses on a regular basis.

"Clergy in American Politics," Prof. Laura Olson (Department of Political Science). Prof. Olson, an
internationally recognized scholar in the field of religion and politics, examines the potentially inspiring but sometimes problematic role of professional clergy (priests, ministers, rabbis, imams,
etc.) in American politics. Counts for social science gen ed credit.
"Spanish Dialogue Beyond the Classroom," Prof. Filiberto Mares, Department of Spanish. This one
-credit class gives intermediate and advanced Spanish students a chance to interact with other
Honors students and improve their Spanish skills in an informal setting.
"Who Decides What's Cool?" Prof. Amanda Cooper, Department of Marketing. Selling brand name
to the in-crowd -- meaning young Americans with disposable income -- is critical to companies
that sell everything from clothes to movies. Prof. Cooper will explore who decides what's cool, and
how to sell it.

More next week!
