Patent Number:

US 2109093 A
Patent Summary:
Packaged slice cheese uses plastic mold to enclose single slices and ensure freshness. This
makes making a sandwich with a single slice of cheese more easily attainable. It is done on
an assembly line; the cheese is sliced and then dropped on the wrapping where it is sealed
air tight. The conveyor belt then drops pieces on each other to form a pack of cheese.

Patent Critique:
Cheese was originally packaged and sold in either really small pieces wrapped in metal foil or
in five pound blocks wrapped in metal foil. This was really inconvenient and an aggravation,
especially if you wanted a sandwich with cheese. When trying to slice thus cheese, it would
typically crumble or clump and break. Now Packaged slice cheese uses plastic mold to
enclose single slices and ensure freshness. This makes making a sandwich with a single
slice of cheese more easily attainable.
