The Champion Cupboard is a weekend food

backpack program that supports students in our
school that are in need. We collect nonperishable
food items all year long. If you are able to help with
this worthy cause, please send in food items with
your child to be placed in the boxes outside of the
cafeteria or given to their teacher. We are currently
in need of peanut
butter, pasta, pasta sauce, and cereal or cereal
bars. Thanks for your support!
We are so excited to announce a new
program available to our students, RAZ
kids. Information is attached about how
you can access this at home. This app or
website allows students to earn points by
listening and reading to books on their
just right level. This can be an alternative
to the reading log, but it's not a
requirement. If you choose to work on a
text from RAZ Kids, just write that on the
reading log along with a guardian
signature. I'll be able to monitor student
progress online. If you do not have
access to a computer or internet at
home, your child will continue to
complete the regular reading log. Every
child will have an opportunity to work on
RAZ kids here at school as well.
Dictation Sentences:
In addition to spelling words on Thursday spelling
tests, third grade will begin doing dictation
sentences. Students will not be given the dictation
sentences ahead of time. The purpose of the
dictation sentences are for students to use their
audio processing skills to comprehend and practice
recording proper grammar, spelling, and sentence
structure in their writing. Students will be graded
on proper usage of capital letters, correct
punctuation and correct spelling.

The Reading All Stars reading program

has started. Students must read 5 books
approved by their teacher to receive a
voucher to attend the game on Monday,
April 13th.
