Ref No, DIR/ELECTIONS/ 02.02.2015
Sub : General Elections to State Legislative Assembly of Delhi on
07" February, 2015.
To enable the employees to exercise their franchise during the
forthcoming General Elections to State Legislative Assembly of Delhi on
Saturday the 07th February, 2015, it has been decided to declare the
polling day where election will be held as an additional paid holiday in
places where it falls on a day other than a holiday/day-off, provided that
the concerned State Government/Union Territory Admin. has also
declared it a holiday. In respect of employees performing the shift duties,
suitable time-off may be granted for those who are rostered for morning
and afternoon shift on the concerned days. They may be allowed to leave
early or report late for duty to enable them to exercise their franchise.
The grant of holiday/time-off is, however, subject to exigencies of the
Company’s work.
In case of employees residing at a place where the date of polling is
different from that at the place where their office is situated, special
casual leave may be granted on the date of polling at the place of their
residence where they have to exercise their franchise. No other facility
will be admissible to such employees.
No substitute day off will, however, be granted to employees if they are
required to report for duty on the date of polling or who exercise their
franchise on their weekly off/rostered day off nor will any Overtime
Allowances be payable to those detailed for duty on the polling day.
These instructions would, also cover casual/part-time employees
working on daily-rated basis.
