We received $3,000 from VINA to pay stipends for the after school programs.
There are some families who have paid money for Archery and others who havent. We have received
$105 and some parents have been told to pay nothing.
Assignment: Ryan Gibbs will clear up with Jose about what families were suppose to pay for
Archery.
Email Rebecca Gagnon: we want community ed. at Loring. That would drastically change the way that
we run after school.
BY LAWS: MN PTA had items that needed to be added to our By-Laws. The updated version was sent out by
Nancy. Updated by-laws were approved by Leah, seconded by Ryan. Nancy will send the updated By-Laws
back to MN PTA again for their approval.
MEETING TOPICS FOR THE YEAR:
To meet support staff and specialists. This would be a way to get to know people other than the teachers.
o What about stations where parents can move through different rooms with the kids?
o ASpecialist Showcase.
o Website scavenger hunt
o Create a Newsletter fun fact on staff
o Podcast with student journalists
Jan 22: There will be a community potluck and then the 4th/5th grade teachers will be showing parents
what teacher to student ratios are during a typical day in the classroom.
o There will be a separate potluck flyer going home in the Loring Newsletter. Kids can be
stickered and a robo call inviting parents to the potluck can be made.
Assignments: Carin Mrotz will get the flyer ready to go out with the Loring Newsletter
Feb 26: Art adventure is in February so we could do an art focused PTA meeting with Lindsey Baldwin
o The kids can do an art project that evening
o It will coincide with the MN PTA state art competition.
o Ryan will give the State of the School on the same evening.
March 19: We will be canceling the regular LCC March meeting and just do an extended executive
meeting.
o The executive only meeting will be from March 19 from 6-8pm meeting
April 23: Community Night
o Play outside?
May 21: State of the School and wrap up. Next year planning
