Marpol 73/78 is the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution From Ships,

1973 as modified by the Protocol of 1978. ("Marpol" is short for marine pollution
and73/78 short for the years 1973 and 1978.)
It is necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of a ship or saving life at sea.
Annex VI: Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships (entered into force on 19 May 2005)
The regulations in this annex set limits on sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide
emissions from ship exhausts and prohibit deliberate emissions of ozone
depleting substances.
This measures are expected to have a significant beneficial impact on the
atmospheric environment and on human health, particularly that of people living
in port cities and coastal communities.

Orsat analyzer is a gas concentration analysis tool typically used to manually sample
CO2, O2 and CO from the flue of a combustion system.
