Project CARE will help you learn parenting

practices based on the best evidence available rather
than having to depend on myths and speculation.
Babies are easily spoiled if they
are held too much.
Television and toys are good
learning tools.
It doesnt matter what a parent
does, genes control everything.
It is better to give a little
ground and protect the peace
than to stand firm and provoke
a fight.
If parents provide a good
environment, children will
pretty much raise themselves.
Babies cry it is normal and
there is nothing you can do.
Toddlers must eat 4 meals a
day.
Playing classical music to
babies makes them smarter.

Parenting classes will help you develop a good

understanding of your childs development so you will
know what to expect from him.

Home Visits give you personal, one-on-one

support for handling stress associated with caring for
infants, information on normal development of infants, and
techniques for bonding with your child.

Support Groups will allow you to

receive and provide support and information from

other parents who have similar issues and problems.

Resource materials such as

parenting, marriage and relationships, financial

management are available for you to check out at the
Emerson Family Resource Center.

Referral Services project staff will link

you to other community agencies to help you secure

support for basic needs (e.g. housing, food, clothing,
medical care, etc.)

Respite is available for you if you have young

children and need childcare while you pursue

employment, go to doctor visits, care for sick family
members, participate in parenting classes, etc.
