Daal

Step 1 – Take 1 cup Tuwar daal (Soak for 2 hours if possible, no problem if not soaked).
Step 2 – slice 2 onions, 5-6 cloves of garlic, 2-3 tomatoes and add to daal.
Step 3 - add ½ tsp haldi, 5-6 green chillies, and boil it in 4 cups of water. Better to use cooker,
or atleast boil very well, till its soft.
Step 4 - Put in a strainer (channi) and mash, or better to put in a blender and just whisk for a few
seconds. Put back in the vessel and bring to a boil again. At this point, you can add chopped
vegetables (chunks of kaddu, beans, munge-ki-phalli etc) and boil for another few minutes.
You can also add mixed vegetables and make it kind of sambar.
Step 5 - give a baghaar of oil, mustard, jeera (chopped garlic &onion if you wish). Add chopped
coriander. Done.
