Psalm 119:97-104 STORY: Angela read Moms grocery list as she pushed her cart down the familiar aisles at the store. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the shelves with chocolate cream-filled snack cakes. Yummy! she thought. I wish Mom had put Choco-cakes on this list. All the way home Angela thought about how good those Choco-cakes would have tasted. Walking into the house, she set the sack of groceries on the table just as Mom came in from working in the garden. Why are you wearing such a scowl? asked Mom. I didnt know I was, Angela answered. I was just wishing I could have bought Choco-cakes at the store instead of these things. I love Choco-cakes! Sometimes when I walk past them in the store, I can almost hear them call out my name: Angela, were over here! Buy us! Eat us! Mom and Angela giggled together. And what do the jars of honey say when you walk past them? Mom asked with a grin as she took honey from the bag and put it in the cupboard. I read a verse about honey in the Psalms this morning, she added thoughtfully. David said Gods words were sweeter to him than honey. Ive read that verse before, but I dont understand it, said Angela with a shrug. Maybe it would make more sense if I liked honey better. Why not think of it this way, suggested Mom with a smile. God wants you to hunger for his Word--even more than you want to eat Choco-cakes! DISCUSSION: Do you hunger for God? Taste the sweetness of Gods Word every day by taking time to read it. His Word is a spiritual treat.L,. MEMORY VERSE: How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103
