Step 1 Know the Learner

The class consists of 15 teenagers. 5 boys and 10 girls. All Native American.
Learning style varies from visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
Multiple Intelligences that the students from visual, interpersonal and intrapersonal.
Entry Skills are basic knowledge of Algebra 1 and geometry.

Step 2 Articulate Objectives and Standards

Students will accurately show step-by-step of how to do the Quadratic Formula with
90% accuracy.
The students will memorize the Quadratic Formula with 100% accuracy.

Step 3 Identify Teaching and Learning Strategies

The students will first be asked basic Algebra questions on the board. As a group,
they will use the example given to see the level of their math skills. 10 questions will
be asked.
Teacher will review the Quiz with the students; the students will voluntarily come to
the board. If correct, the student will teach the class on how to do that Algebraic
Equation.
Will review equations from the previous year to test their proficiency and knowledge
and memory refreshment course.
Step-by-step, one at a time students, will come to the smart board to give what they
have for that part of the equation. If not correct, the students will assist the student
on how to properly get that for the equation.
To check learning, have the same student be called on repeatedly to ensure
maximum potential of learning the Quadratic Formula.
As a Group of 4 students, they will be given 12 questions from the textbook and each
group will write their answers on the board. As a class, review and correct to ensure
they have memorized and learned the quadratic formula.
Students will participate and assist with learning to build communication skills, while
learning the Quadratic Formula.

Step 5 Evaluate and Revise the Design

If more than 5 students receive a 90% on the quiz, homework will be given.
If more than 5 students receive a 85% or lower, it will be reviewed next day in class.
IF only one scores above a 95% the lesson will be retaught in class until success is
reached.
