K-1 Painting - Exploring the Brushstroke

To extend the painting process and increase the exploration of the brushstroke, the
children were often asked to take a break and work on a very large mural. They
discovered many more ways to move their bodies shoulders, elbows, wrists and
finger joints, in order to make different brushstrokes.

The brushstroke is the artist's

signature; no two signatures are
alike.
Artists using their shoulder joints
to paint large areas on the mural.

Using finger and wrist joints to paint small shapes and narrow lines.

Using elbow joints to paint medium shapes and wide lines.
