Shortcut for Cube questions!

* 46) If a cube with side 12 divided into equal smaller cubes of side 3, then you will have 4x4x4=64 smaller Cubes.
Here n=4 & you can find the number of coloured sides directly as
No. of cubes with 3 sides coloured= 8 (all corner cubes)
No. of cubes with 2 sides coloured= 12(n-2) =24
No. of cubes with 1 side coloured= 6 2 2 =24
No. of cubes with 0 sides coloured= 2 3=8
If the same cube is getting divided into smaller cubes of side 2 each then n=6 (
No. of cubes with 3 sides coloured= 8 (all corner cubes)
No. of cubes with 2 sides coloured= 12(n-2) =48
No. of cubes with 1 side coloured= 6 2 2 =96
No. of cubes with 0 sides coloured= 2 3=64
