Colour scheme:
Every item of promotional material connects through the colour scheme of
both the font and the colour palette of the whole image. In each album
cover of the artists, colour is a main element and is exaggerated through
either the dramatic black and white in Ben Howards album or the bold
colours in Ed Sheerans album cover. The colours in each album cover are
essential in portraying the genre of the music, for example, Mark Ronsons
album is a pop record and therefore the bold colours of pink, orange, black
and white exaggerate this, whereas, Becks album cover uses neutral and
calming tones to exaggerate his mellow and chilled music.
Position of Artists:
The position and composure of the artist is also crucial for an album cover.
In each album cover, the male artist is shown yet there is an element of
other factors being more important. For example, Ed Sheerans and Ben
Howards album cover, the colour is more important as half of their facial
features are hidden due to the extreme use of colour. Additionally, the
facial expression in all male artists are similar, a straight, non-posed face.
This emphasises the ordinary and relatable male artists.
Font type:
The font style is different according to the genre of the music, for example
Mark Ronsons font is bold whereas Becks font style is thin and plain. The
font style always fits with the colour scheme making it stand out against
the colours used in the background.
