1. When and how did you use the six general rules of shooting a music video in this project? Using
examples, evaluate why you used them for effect and purpose.
One rule of the music video is to include movement of the camera which was included in my music
video through the use of the artist dancing towards the end of the video and also the frequent use of
different shots of the artist, showing the different body parts of the artist.
Another rule we used in the music video was having 75% of the video to include close up/mid shots
and also 75% of the video is the focus on the star. This was achieved throughout the video as the
artist was the main focus and no other object or person was shown.
Editing to the beat was also achieved throughout the video as different clips of the artist were
shown when the beat of the song changed which also increased the movement of the video. Also
the editing to the beat was successfully used to the change of colour.
Examples of the type of shots shown
in the fast cut editing in order to
create movement.

2. Evaluate how you contributed to the project, what problems occurred and how you solved any
problems.
My contribution to the project included finding the location which was included having a black
screen and good lighting in order to produce the best shot and fit with the idea we had in mind. As
well as this, when filming the video I helped with the type of shots and what needs to be focused of
the artist for different types of the video. Also, I had to help with the movement of the lighting and
what would be the best light for the different shots.
3. Discuss the process you went through in creating the music video.
