2) Students will understand the different elements of a short story.
3) Students will identify the different short story elements in the specific story.
Activity Objective
Student will use technology to dictate what they have learned in the overall lesson.
CURRICULUM STANDARDS:

[TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION 8] Practice safe uses of social networking and

electronic communication.
ACTIVITIES:
At the end of my lesson, students will answer a poll on Poll Everywhere by texting their
response to the question What did you learn today? Responses are texted to the number
37607 with a message looking like this 155610 Today I learned______. Responses are
anonymously sent to my poll which I can view and evaluate their responses.

I will need a computer/access to the internet, to view their comments. I will need the
website Poll Everywhere, and a whiteboard to write down the number to text and how to
format the text.
6. How much time do I need to allow for this lesson?
5 minutes.
7. Who can help me with the planning and/or implementation of this lesson?
None is required.
8. How will I assess the students learning?
I will assess the students learning by how many responses I get. Ideally, there will be 1820, meaning every student successfully sent a comment to me. I will also assess their
learning by their responses.
