“THE EXTORTION”
NABOR’S RESIDENCE. PARKING LOT. DAY 2
Reporters’ vans and cars park outside Nabor’s residence, they’re just arriving
to the place.
TV REPORTER
And this afternoon we will know Nabor Restrepo’s
statements about the law proposal for prohibiting
those bars attended by people with different sexual
preferences, better known as homosexuals and….
The TV reporter keeps on talking and there are more reporters everywhere
getting ready.
NABOR’S RESIDENCE. STUDIO.
Nabor with a serious expression is working in his studio. On the screen of his
PC the option “printing” is seen. The document in process has a title “PINK
CLEANING PROJECT” Nabor observes the sheets coming from the printer. His
look is lost remembering Genaro’s name.
NABOR
(SMILING)Genaro.
FLASH BACK BEGINS
Genaro and Nabor, dancing in the gay bar.
FLASH BACK ENDS
NABOR’S RESIDENCE. STUDIO.
(CONT.) While Nabor remembers, he’s following the rhythm of the MUSIC
played in the bar.
NABOR
(TO HIMSELF) Let’ see…. how’s the choreography?
Nabor is alone in the room He starts dancing the choreographies that Genaro
taught him, with the music played in the bar and that is in his mind. In his
imagination he sees a big ball full of small pieces of mirror of different colors
coming from the ceiling, as it happens at discos. He continues dancing in the
middle of the room, he looks ridiculous.
JULIAN
(OFF) Mhhhh, mhhh…
Nabor turns over to the door and sees that Vanesa and Julian have been
observing him, they look upset. His fantasy at the bar disappears.
NABOR
(RECOVERING) What’s going on?
JULIAN
(SERIOUS) Reporters are outside, waiting for you

NABOR
Sure, sure. I’m coming…
Nabor takes the document “Pink Operation” from the desk and leaves the
place. Vanesa and Julian look puzzled. The phone rings.
JULIAN
I’ll get it!
VANESA
We’ll be downstairs, OK?
Vanesa leaves the place and Julian answers the phone
JULIAN
Nabor Restrepo’s office, hello?
On the other side of the line Tony’s voice is heard.
TONY
(OFF) Hey idiot! What about my money?
JULIAN
You said you could wait…and….
TONY
(OFF) Yeah, but not that long stupid! So stop playing
the fool! I want my money soon! Did you get it?
Tony hangs up. Julian stays concerned. Then Rosa, the maid comes in.
ROSA
Mr. Restrepo wants the videos for the presentation.
JULIAN
(WORRIED) Oh, yes, yes. Thanks Rosa.
Julian looks distracted, and goes to a bookcase from which he takes some
DVD’s (which don’t have any identification) and leaves the room.
LIVING ROOM.
The place is prepared for reporters to hear a press conference. It is already
full of media representatives’ men and women. Tony is among them. Next to
Nabor and Vanesa there is a DVD projector. Reporters start asking questions
and taking photos, flashes come from everywhere. Nabor looks calm and
Vanesa is next to him, giving support.
Julian is coming downstairs with the DVD’s and many pamphlets in his
hands.
A reporter starts the interview
REPORTER
Mr. Restrepo, what about this new proposal?
NABOR
As a congressman my proposal is for protecting our
youngsters mentally and physically from corruption
and deviated sexual conducts. To stop such

behaviors that damages our society. It’s necessary to

crush those gay bars.
Vanesa and Julian keep standing next to Nabor.
NABOR
My wife will give you a copy of a document in which
the details of my proposal are explained called “Pink
Cleaning Proposal” (TR.) But before, a short video
will show you how maladjustments of the sexual life
are displayed in aberrant ways in the so called gay
bars. I consider that our society must not continue
tolerating such perversion and those placed must be
banned.
The room becomes darker. Julian introduces one of the DVD’s and turns on
the projector pressing the “play” button. On the screen it’s seen a series of
images of beautiful men half nude dancing in bars. The camera focuses
specially in beautiful buttocks or well built arms and chests muscles
Reporters look at each others intrigued and surprised (but they can’t hide
their admiration more than repugnance at such scenes). Women reporters
get excited and start shouting and screaming when watching such beauties,
like when in Chippendale shows.
Vanesa is totally astonished and doesn’t know what to do. Nabor grabs Julian
from one arm and pushes him to another room, away from reporters. Tony
without being seen follows them.
NABOR
Hey dickhead! That’s not the DVD I told you to play,
it was a different one, the one that I made to be
recorded
JULIAN
(HONESTLY) Sorry! I made a mistake
NABOR
(WHISPERING) Oh, really? Son of a bitch! Fuck off!
JULIAN
(DISCREETELY) Nabor, one thing is that you don’t
remember your gay origins but it’s not fair that you
attack the gay community. That’s a fucking shit!
Tony very carefully is overhearing everything they say and recording the
dialog.
NABOR
Listen dickhead! I had to do this in order to please
the Pancardo’s, who supported with a lot of money
my campaign and this is a way to correspond to
them. They are very moral and insist on prohibiting
these bars, but at the end nothing will happen. This
is how the system works, OK?

JULIAN
By the way, have you noticed that in your list you
included the bar in which we met?
NABOR
Nothing is gonna happen…. and now I must arrange
the shit you’ve made with such video because of
your confusion
Nabor returns to the living room where the reporters are watching the video
and turns the machine off.
In the meantime Julian notices Tony’s close presence, who pretends not be
aware of anything. Julian doesn’t suspect and keeps on his way.
NABOR
(NERVOUS) See that? See that? There is nothing but
depravity and degeneration in such places. Young
boys are being corrupted when they are so fragile, so
innocent so defensiveness…. and I consider that my
“Pink Cleaning Project” must be accepted by the
legislation. Do you have any question?
A woman reporter raises her hand
NABOR
Yes, ma’am?
REPORTER WOMAN 1
Congressman Restrepo, where can I get a copy of
the video?
REPORTER WOMAN 2
Yes, it’s a beautiful video…journalistic I mean
Reporters are reading the information contained in envelopes but they are
astonished when they see that there are some condoms included. They look
at each other but nobody says a word.
NABOR
Any additional information you may require, my
assistant will furnish it to you.
REPORTER MAN 1
Congressman Restrepo, are you in a good mood
today?
NABOR
Sorry, I don’t know what you mean.
REPORTER MAN 2
Well, my colleague is referring to the envelope we
received that is including a pamphlet on safe sex and
“these things”
He shows the condoms. Nabor freezes and turns his head towards Julian who
pretends to be absent and is singing a song tune softly.

JULIAN
(TO HIMSELF) This is part of what you deserve,
asshole.
Nabor is furious. Vanesa immediately faces the reporters.
VANESA
(IMPROVISING) My husband wants you to have first
hand information, that you be aware of pamphlets
that are given in those places…. and as you can
notice they are an invitation to promiscuity and
licentiousness.
REPORTER MAN 2
I consider that this pamphlet and the condom are
good measurements of public health
NABOR
It depends on your point of view. There are people
that see a glass of water half empty and there are
others that see it half full. As you know, I am in favor
of a society that may protect the family values and
the sex to be practiced only to procreate.
REPORTER WOMAN 1
(MAKING A PELVIC MOVEMENT) and also to enjoy it!
All reporters laugh. Nabor is embarrassed and doesn’t know how to control
the audience.
NABOR
Well, that’s all for today and thank you very much for
your attendance
Reporters start leaving the place but some of them protest for the sudden
end. Vanesa at the door shakes hands saying good-bye to all of them.
Genaro enters in the living room, nobody notices him.
Vanesa doesn’t see Genaro, because at that moment she’s kissing good-bye
to Tony. Their eyes show that they know each other very well.
Julian approaches Nabor.
JULIAN
(SOFTLY) Are you in a bad mood, my dear “Nabito”?
NABOR
I’ve told you I don’t like that you call me that way in
public…little “Juliany” And no, I’m not angry, I’m
fucking furious…. see what you did to me (shows the
pamphlet with the condom) in front of all those
reporters? All of them are a bunch of snakes spitting
poison everywhere and you add fuel to the fire.
Vanesa at the back sees Genaro and goes directly to him.

GENARO
I have an appointment with Congressman Restrepo
All reporters have gone. Julian and Nabor continue with their argument.
JULIAN
The stuff of the pamphlets were in revenge for what
you did to me in front of the Pancardo’s but when I
came back after we argued you weren’t in…that
pissed me off.
NABOR
So, that was just because we had a silly quarrel?
Oh… You, piece of shit!
Julian seems really repented.
JULIAN
Regarding the DVD‘s I really was very distracted and
honestly I didn’t check if they were the ones you
wanted. I’m very sorry, it was a fucking mistake…but
I think that what you want to do is….
Nabor is furious.
NABOR
Little “Juliany” I want to make this clear. You are my
secretary. (ARROGANT)You take note of my
statements and coordinate my agenda only. I don’t
mind your fucking opinion, is it clear?
Julian remains in silent, upset because what Nabor said has annoyed him. In
that moment Vanesa gets in.
VANESA
Nabor, that young man who’s there, says that he has
an appointment with you.
Julian gets upset when he sees Genaro
JULIAN
What a fuck…? Nabor what’s all this fucking shit?
NABOR
You’re not the only one who’s giving surprises today,
my dear. (To Genaro) Come here, Genaro.
Genaro timidly, comes closer to where Nabor and Julian are standing
NABOR
I’m pleased to introduce you to Genaro Villalongin,
my “second assistant”
Vanesa and Julian are astounded. Genaro shows surprise as well.

NABOR
My second assistant. Since Julian is having a lot of
work and that’s why he confuses the DVD’s and the
pamphlets, I’ve decided to take in another assistant
(TO JULIAN) From now on you’ll be in charge of my
public relations and Genaro will be in charge of my
“personal needs”
Vanesa and Julian keep perplexed and Genaro doesn’t understand their
reactions.
NABOR
Hey! Did you get what I said?
VANESA
It’s perfectly a crystal clear, honey!
NABOR
I mean that from now on Genaro will be in charge of
my agenda and my phone calls, and Julian will be
responsible of my correspondence, answering it
when required, issuing the memos and, the most
important, he must remain full time in the office to
wait on those people who want to contact me.
Julian looks upset and disappointed.
JULIAN
(TO GENARO) Well as I can see new generations are
showing their teeth very soon. By the way, where did
you study?
GENARO
I’ve just finished high school, sir, and what about
you?
JULIAN
I went to college…. it was a beautiful and democratic
public university
NABOR
(WITH SARCASM) Genaro you told me you wanted to
study laws, didn’t you? Well Julian Alvarez is a
lawyer. That’s why he’s being promoted now to a
better position… But we all start from the very
bottom, Julian did as well.
Julian is furious.
NABOR
Vanesa, please take Genaro to the kitchen, and
introduce him to the personnel

Vanesa takes Genaro with her to the kitchen. Genaro and Nabor look at each
other. After they left Julian explodes.
JULIAN
You want me far from you, don’t you?
NABOR
C’mon don’t take it that way…I’m only giving you the
opportunity to develop all your skills more efficiently.
JULIAN
(RAISING HIS VOICE) That’s not true, what you really
want is to fuck that faggy
P.O.V. from Saint Sebastian painting. Nabor and Julian continue arguing.
JULIAN
You don’t like what I say because is the fucking truth,
do you?
NABOR
What did you say?
JULIAN
What you heard dickhead! You just want to fuck that
homo! And what about me? You only want to kick me
out fucker! You fuck off, son of a bitch!
NABOR
Whatever….
Nabor turns around and walks upstairs leaving Julian standing. He stops in
the middle of the stairs and without looking at Julian says
NABOR
You’d better go to the office right now because there
is a lot of pending work….
He continues his way up but also says
NABOR
I’m going to take a break; this has been a long DAY,
full of surprises for everybody.
He meets Rosa who is coming downstairs
NABOR
Rosa, in the kitchen there is a young boy, his name is
Genaro, please tell him to come to my room I need a
massage.
ROSA
Yes, sir.
Both keep on their ways. Julian keeps standing in the same place, full of
anger.

NABOR’S BEDROOM.
Nabor takes his jacket off, takes the TV remote control and turns it on. Then
he takes his wallet out of his pocket, opens it and takes a small bag of
cocaine and his golden credit card. On top of the NIGHT table he spreads the
cocaine powder. While he is making 6 lines on the cocaine with his card he
starts sweating. With a bill of high denomination, he rolls it and sniffs the
first line of drug.
Nabor smiling jumps into his bed and watches the TV (on the screen there
are scenes of Chippendale’s dancing) Somebody knocks at his door.
NABOR
Yeah, come in.
Genaro comes in.
NABOR
(SMILING)
Why do you knock? This is your house, don’t ask for
any permission, got it?
Genaro looks at Nabor and sees on top of the night table, the cocaine lines.
NABOR
Come closer, I’m not going to hurt you. (SHOWING
THE DRUG)Would you like some?
GENARO
(DISSAPOINTED) No, thank you. I don’t like it.
NABOR
(SARCASTIC) You’re really a healthy person. At the
bar you didn’t also drink…
GENARO
(SERIOUS) Do you really want a massage?
NABOR
Yeah, yeah I do really want it …but I also want to
give you a massage.
Nabor pats the bed with one of his hands inviting Genaro to sit next to him.
Genaro doesn’t get closer and stays still.
GENARO
Listen Nabor, this isn’t going to work
NABOR
Why are you saying that? Nobody is going to bother
us. We have everything to have a fucking great time!
C’mon honey!
Nabor goes to the night table and sniffs another line of cocaine.
GENARO
You never told me that you have a mate, and also
that you have a wife…

Nabor lays on the bed and says to him

NABOR
I’ve just met you yesterday, boy! and it’s
complicated to explain my life.
GENARO

NABOR
Don’t worry about Julian. It was just about time and
the story finished yesterday. Vanesa, well she’s my
wife but only because of image
GENARO
I wonder which one is your game, but I’m telling you
that I’m not going to be part of it. I had a different
idea of the plan. I’m not disposable, you know?
Nabor gets up and goes where Genaro is. He touches Genaro’s hair and
stares at him captivated.
NABOR
Don’t say that, of course you’re not, you’re different
and that’s why I like you
Nabor tries to kiss him but Genaro rejects him.
GENARO
I’d better go. It’s not my style Nabor.
Genaro is ready to leave but Nabor stops him holding his hand. Genaro looks
at him.
NABOR
And which is the lady’s style? A bed full of petals of
roses? Romantic music?
GENARO
Nabor, you disappoint me.
NABOR
C’mon! don’t make it difficult. Come here honey!
Nabor grabs Genaro‘s arm and tries to pulls him to the bed but Genaro
punches him on the face and Nabor goes to the floor.
GENARO
Don’t touch me! If I am gay doesn’t mean that I don’t
like my balls and I have the guts to do what I want.
Nabor is on the floor astonished. He isn’t furious. Genaro’s disdain has hurt
him.
GENARO
When I first met you I felt something, I thought you
were different, but I was wrong. You’re a fucker
asshole as all of them!

Genaro leaves and Nabor is complaining.

NABOR
Please Genaro, don’t go! I do feel something for you!
Genaro has already shut the door after him and Nabor remains on the floor,
pensive
LIVING ROOM.
Julian is wiping his tears. Vanesa, next to Julian, is comforting him.
JULIAN
This isn’t fair, isn’t fair…
Genaro is coming downstairs, he looks enraged, disappointed. He goes
directly to the entrance door.
GENARO
Julian, don’t cry! he doesn’t deserve it. He’s an
asshole. Good NIGHT, nice to meet you
Then he leaves the place. Julian and Vanesa are flabbergasted
VANESA
See Julian? Nothing happened (SURPRISED) though it
finished very soon
JULIAN
(BITTERLY) I don’t care if they broke up or not. Fuck
with this stuff!
Julian gets up.
VANESA
Calm down Julian, talk with Nabor
Julian leaves the place without listening to Vanesa. Vanesa has a pensive
expression
NABOR’S BEDROOM.
Nabor is lying on the bed, with eyes wide open. The top of the NIGHT table is
clean of cocaine. Nabor looks tense and motionless, just grinding his teeth.
LABORATORY. "CLOCKWORK ORANGE”. DAY X
The image is unreal, deformed. The laboratory is dark; some weak lights
make Nabor to be seen. He is sitting on a chair. Nabor is tied up to the seat
with some leather strips, a device is over his eyes to keep them wide open,
and he can’t close them. There are some electrodes connected to his
forehead.
From the darkness LUDOVICO, emerges. He‘s wearing a bathrobe, glasses
and looks like an insane, crazy scientist. In front of Nabor there is a screen.
NABOR
Doctor, are you sure that with this treatment I’m not
going to be a fag anymore?

LUDOVICO
Sure my dear Congressman! This method is 100%
effective
NABOR
Is it going to be very painful?
LUDOVICO
(WALKING AROUND NABOR) Well, yes! You know? It
doesn’t worth if it doesn’t hurt…. (HE LAUGHS)
When on the screen you see a figure that sexually
stimulates you, you will receive a light voltage
discharge (HE TOUCHES SOFTLY THE ELECTRODES).
It will associate homosexuality with non desirable
stimulus. My method will save you a lot money that
you may waste in psychoanalysts that consider that
everything is a phallus.
NABOR

LUDOVICO
I know you won’t regret. (SARCASTIC) Are you ready?
NABOR
(FRIGHTENED) Yeah, I’m ready.
The lights turn off. In a quick succession, on the screen appears the figure of
a woman in bikini. nothing happens. Then appears the image of a well built
man lifting weights and Nabor receives a discharge. An image of a flower
follows. nothing happens. The image of a transvestite disguised as a flower
appears. Nabor receives a discharge, and he moans…A painting of a virgin
holding a baby, made by Rafael, appears and nothing happens….
Afterwards the “Saint Sebastian Martyrdom” is on the screen and there is a
discharge. Nabor swallows a lot of saliva…. the screen shows the entrance of
a cave and there isn’t any discharge…then it appears the Eiffel tower and
Nabor receives a discharge.
NABOR
(SCREAMING) Please stop, stop!
LUDOVICO
(LAUGHING) No, no, you’re not ready yet
The screen shows Vanesa. nothing happens…. then Genaro smiling appears
and the discharge is a bigger…once more Genaro’s image appears but more
detailed and the discharge is more intense.
NABOR
(SCREAMING) Stop doctor, please stop!
LUDOVICO
Oh, I see, I see. Listen I’m sorry to tell you that
homosexuality cannot be cured, but now your
problem is different….

Again Genaro’s image is son the screen but extremely in close-up. The
machine burns because of a strong discharge and Nabor screams.
NABOR
No, no, no!
LUDOVICO
Sure Mr. Restrepo, you’re in love and that doesn’t
have a cure as well.
Nabor is sweating and his eyes are badly hurt.
LUDOVICO
Sorry my friend, this is over
The lights shine so much that blind the sight.
NABOR’S RESIDENCE. NABOR’S BEDROOM. DAY 2
Nabor is suffering after his journey, he shakes his body. Vanesa comes in
and sees Nabor twisting on the floor.
VANESA
Nabor, Nabor!
Nabor doesn’t answer. Vanesa looks at the night table and sees some
cocaine on it.
VANESA
Oh, my god! Look at this….
Vanesa kneels down and slaps on Nabor’s cheeks.
VANESA
Stop it Nabor, stop it!
NABOR
Genaro, Genaro!
Nabor lies on the floor, twisting his body. Vanesa takes the phone and dials.
The sound dilutes and the image turns show and blurred.
DISSOLVE TO:
NABOR’S BEDROOM.
Nabor is asleep. Vanesa and a doctor are standing at the door of the
bedroom.
VANESA
Doctor, thank you very, very much…
DOCTOR
You are welcome, lady
VANESA
Doctor, my husband, Congressman Restrepo and I
would appreciate very much your discretion. As soon
as he wakes up I will inform him of what you have
done, so that he’ll see how to correspond you.

VANESA

The doctor leaves the place. Vanesa closes the door of the room and sits
down on the bed next to Nabor. Nabor very slowly opens his eyes and looks
around and sees Vanesa.
VANESA
Are you awaken, beautiful sleeper?
NABOR
What happened?
VANESA
Well, it happened that the recently elected
congressman was about to die. You were screaming
like crazy and calling the young boy’s name that
came to see you.
NABOR
Please Vanesa, its necessary that you help me with
that boy
VANESA
What? Are you nuts? I think that I’ll call Dr. Ludovico
again, because there is something wrong in your
head.
NABOR
I’m serious. You have to help me with Genaro. I
thought it was something unimportant but it isn’t, it
isn’t. (HE SIGHS) I’m in love with him. Talk with him, I
can tell you where to find him. Please….
VANESA
OK, calm down and rest, tomorrow we’ll see. Julian,
you and me will talk then
NABOR
Listen, Julian doesn’t mean anything to me anymore
VANESA
In this moment you are high, so you’d better rest,
OK?
NABOR
(VERY SERIOUS AND DETERMINED)
That’s shit Vanesa! there’s nothing wrong with my
head. I know what I say and you are here to help
me… That’s your job as “wife”, remember? any
moment I want I can divorce from you and you won’t

Nabor stares at Vanesa
NABOR
Vanesa don’t try to do something against me I can
do something worse to you, so do what you have to
do and that’s it! Be a good girl, OK? you’ll be
compensated.
Vanesa looks scared and disappointed at Nabor’s words.
MINISUPER. CASHIER’S AREA. DAY 3
Genaro is one of the cashiers that are working in the supermarket. At the
moment he’s waiting on a CLIENT 1. Genaro is passing the goods through the
scanner. He finishes and another client follows. Genaro raises his head to say
hello to the next client
GENARO
(SMILING) Everything OK?
Genaro changes his expression when looking at the client, he sees his aunt
Clara.
GENARO
(SURPRISED) Aunt, what are you doing here?
CLARA
Shopping, can’t you see?
GENARO
(SARCASTIC) Oh, my uncle finally got a job, huh?
Genaro scans all the goods and when he finishes, he shows the ticket to
Clara
CLARA
That ticket is for you, you have to pay it! What do
you think? That all the time you lived with us was for
free? of course not!
GENARO
OK, If you refuse to pay your bill, I’ll call security. Up
to you.
CLARA
Oh, really? C’mon call security and I’ll tell everybody
that you are a fag. The manager won’t be so happy
to know it, huh?
GENARO
Don’t be silly, say everything you want…. he‘s

Clara gets nervous since a client behind her is watching everything. She is
embarrassed.
CLARA (AS A VICTIM)
I never thought you were so thankless.
GENARO
I don’t think I was, but you were very greedy and
never cared about me
The packing boy gives the shopping bags to Clara
GENARO
Please aunt Clara, don’t ever come back, OK?

When handing the papers to Julian, Vanesa looks at the photos that Julian

Julian takes the case, the small gun, the infrared glasses, goes to his car and
driving reverse very quickly he gets out of the side street.
From P. O. V. of one of the guard video cameras of CCTV has recorded the
car coming reverse from the side street and then going away the road, the
time and date are also recorded automatically. The driver is not clearly seen.
The dead body remains on the ground. The dogs come closer to the body
and smell it and then howl with pity.
DISSOLVE TO:
DARK SIDESTREET
A couple of police patrols arrive. Polaroid shots are taken to Tony’s body.
Vanesa is passing by in her car. A police officer stops her. At that moment
they are putting the body onto a stretcher to get into an ambulance
POLICE OFICCER
Sorry ma’am, we’re changing the traffic flow. There
was a murder and the dead body was left over there.
The stretcher with Tony’s corpse is passing in front of Vanesa. She
