Its hard to believe that St.

Patricks Day is already upon us and this Tuesday will


be our green bagel breakfast. We are also busy preparing for our Multicultural
Day and potluck on Wednesday, March 25th. Thursday, March 26th, we will
be visiting the Liberty Science Center. Thank you to the parents who volunteered
to chaperone.
Below is a summary of the content we will study this week:

ELA
There will be ELA and Spelling assessments on Friday, March 20th.
Reading Students will be exploring the genre of realistic fiction and
magazine articles. The reading comprehension skills of using text clues to
draw conclusions will be reinforced along with word families and the use of
a glossary.
Spelling Words in which y is changed to i will be studied. See page 103
of workbook for words. Bonus word: hostess.
Grammar The class will continue to focus on pronouns with an
emphasis on subject, object, and reflexive pronouns.
Writing Students are currently working on researching and completing
their Multicultural PowerPoints.

Social Studies
Students will continue to study Womens History Month. There will be a Social
Studies assessment on this chapter on Thursday, March 19th. Please see study
guide for details.

Science
There will be a Science assessment on this chapter on Wednesday, March 18th.
Please see study guide for details.

Religion
The unit of study on formal prayer will continue the following week with the Hail
Mary and Apostles Creed. The class will also learn about St. Patrick.
