Victoria Theatre Association Presents October Mid-Day


Arts Cafe
Featuring an Insightful Discussion of Mahlers Symphony
No. 4

DAYTON, OH- (Sept. 30, 2014) - Victoria Theatre Association


(VTA) presents the popular lunchtime arts preview series Mid-Day
Arts Caf on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 in the Mathile Theatre, located
inside the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center.
Octobers presentation features Dayton Philharmonic Artistic
Director & Conductor Neal Gittleman and Dayton Performing Arts
Alliance (DPAA) President & CEO Paul Helfrich who provide insight in
to the visionary composer Gustav Mahler and his
heavenly Symphony No. 4 in G major. Tickets can be purchased

Each Mid-Day Arts Caf begins with a delicious lunch box provided
by Citilites Restaurant & Bar, at 11:30 a.m., and the presentation
starts promptly at noon. Audiences will enjoy a compelling 30 to 45
minute interactive discussion surrounding the intricacies of

composer Gustav Mahlers Symphony No. 4 in G major, which will be


performed at the Oct. 17-18 Mozart to Mahler concert and
featured at the Classical Conversation Mahler: The
Visionary performance on Oct. 19. Gittleman and Helfrich lead the
discussion which includes piano demonstrations, a PowerPoint
presentation and audio playbacks, followed by a 15 minute Q & A.

New Lunch Menu!

New lunch options from Citilites at the Schuster Center are available
to Mid-Day Arts Caf patrons options include: turkey on ciabatta;
ham and cheese on croissant; chicken curry on croissant;
Mediterranean wrap; vegan wrap; chicken Caesar salad; and glutenfree chicken Caesar salad.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the event starting promptly at noon

Tickets are $15 each or $12 for current VTA Season Ticket Holders
and includes a complete box lunch provided by Citilites at the
Schuster Center and discounted parking in The Arts Garage, located

groups. In cooperation with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance
(Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra),
Muse Machine, The Zoot Theatre Company, DCDC, Musica- Dayton
Chamber Choir, and The Human Race Theatre Company, Mid-Day
Arts Caf offers the chance to network with area arts lovers, view
sneak peeks of upcoming performances, and get out of the office for
an enjoyable lunch time!

Victoria Theatre Association is one of Daytons premier arts organizations, presenting the
Premier Health Broadway Series, the PNC Family Series, the Cool Films Series, Star
Attractions, the Projects Unlimited Variety Series, National Geographic Live Series, and The
Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series, which features curriculum-enhanced live theatre
productions for school children. In addition to the performances it presents, Victoria Theatre
Association also manages the historic Victoria Theatre, the Benjamin & Marian Schuster
Performing Arts Center, and the Metropolitan Arts Center, which houses The Loft Theatre.
Victoria Theatre Association receives funding from a variety of diverse public, corporate,
individual and private sources, including the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District

and the Ohio Arts Council. The Ohio Arts Council and The National Endowment for the Arts

growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
