EXISTING SCENARIO
Two geographically different institutes
Mother Institute : NIM (NI)
NIM (NI) was ranked one of the top 15 business management
schools in India by various agencies
Unit based performance management and incentive system which is
transparent and appreciated by all faculty members
Faster growth by expansion strategy
Metro cities are difficult to get established because of exorbitant
rents and competition
Tier-II cities are being targeted

PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM

Locational disadvantage
Gap between ranking of mother institute and CI campus
Current performance management system did not lay emphasis on
qualitative parameters of assessment except teaching
Hesitation from faculty members to join because of location
inconvenience
Problem in reducing the turn over of faculty members
Absence of industry interaction in CI campus
Local teaching staff was not efficient enough and did not have required
teaching exposure

PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM

For EEP courses fierce competition from IIMs and other reputed
management institutes
Non-congruence of performance management system and reward
system
Elective system : Faculties of the subjects not much opted by many
students tend to teach other courses that they do not have expertise
in

OBJECTIVE OF MEETINGS
Design and implement acceptable performance management and
reward system
Improve employee satisfaction and reduce employee turnover
Improve institute image and attract good students
