Honors Four Year Plan

I intend to study abroad at least once, but I am going to meet with an advisor within
the next few weeks to figure out when to best plan for that
BIOPSYCHOLOGY
Examines the biological basis of behavior, the nervous system, how it works to control
behavior and sense the world, and what happens when it malfunctions. Topics include
learning and memory, development, sex, drugs, sleep, the senses, emotions, and mental
disorders.
I am very interested in psychology, but furthermore I am interested in how our body
chemistry and physical make-up affects how we act and feel. Because of this, I have
considered majoring in biopsychology, so I want to take the class on biopsychology as
soon as I can, so I can see if I am truly interested in pursuing it as a major or not.
H GLOBAL POVERTY AND CARE
Explores the causes and patterns of global poverty, and the urgent need for studies of
care in both academic work and public policy. Considers the possibilities and challenges
of caring across distance, and ways to respectfully engage with people in different places.
I am very passionate about volunteering, and hope to study abroad in Northern Africa
doing volunteer work. I would love to take the Global Poverty and Care class because it
would greatly help deepen my understanding of the terrible state so many countries are
in, particularly those that I may be working in. This class would help prepare me to do the
best job I could in a poverty-stricken country.
THE BIBLE AS LITERATURE

Introduction to the development of the religious ideas and institutions of ancient Israel,
with selected readings from the Old Testament and New Testament. Emphasis on reading
the Bible with literary and historical understanding.
I am not a very religious person, but the Bible has always intrigued me in the way it is
such a huge part in so many peoples lives. But rather than studying it from a religious
point of view, I would like to study it objectively. I am extremely interested in dissecting
it and reading for all of the different interpretations that people have taken from it.
