Without realizing it, students use learner profiles in their day-to-day activities, both inside
and outside of the classroom. We are employing them as a result of our school-related
experiences. The goal and vision of ASGL have helped us develop the skills necessary to deal
with specific circumstances. Every student is helped by ASGL by raising awareness of the
outside world and how it functions. The goal is to instill in us the ability to employ creativity both
inside and outside of the classroom, as well as to acquire confidence through social interaction.
During our schooling, we are exposed to a variety of scenarios that will help us improve as both
students and people. Another advantage is that we are surrounded by a variety of nationalities
and cultures that will support our efforts to be globally present. The goal of ASGL is to
progressively get us ready for college and the rest of our lives by teaching us how to take risks,
be open-minded, communicate effectively, reflect, be knowledgeable, and be balanced.

A person who is aware of and cognizant of the larger world and their place in it is said to
be a "global citizen." It entails becoming aware of the systemic injustices that underpin issues
and acting in a sustainable manner to address them. Global citizens understand the value of
advocacy in uniting people around the world and enlisting on-going support from those who can
effect genuine change. In my opinion, John Lennon, an English singer, songwriter, musician,
and peace activist who rose to popularity as the band The Beatles' co-founder, co-composer,
rhythm guitarist, and co-lead vocalist, is a global citizen. Lennon was a caring person who gave
thousands of dollars to charity over the course of his brief life. He also fought to put an end to
conflicts and for peace. He wrote the song "All You Need is Love" because this was his life's
passion. To ensure that all of the earnings from that song would go to charity, he established a
foundation. He is also principled because he suggested that everyone should be considered
simply as a fellow human being and that conventional classifiers like religion, nationality, and
skin color are unimportant from a cosmic perspective. Being an activist was one of John
Lennon's most significant tasks, and when he backed people of color and was a key figure in
the Peace Movement, he became a tremendous political figure. He showed a growing interest in
feminism while supporting the anti-war movement, Native American, and African-American
rights. Last but not least, he was a risk-taker. Lennon started to create strong connections
between his music and the politics of the day. His skill was used to effect social and political
change. Lennon was a significant figure who promoted love and peace through his music.
Lennon's commitment to peace was influenced by his anti-war and anti-violence stance.

I constantly strive to be the greatest version of myself and search for opportunities to get
better along the way. In both my personal and intellectual life during the past four years, I can
proudly state that I have expanded significantly and become a more well-rounded global citizen.
I've developed positive characteristics that I believe are necessary to be regarded as a good
global citizen. Before ASGL, I had a really limited perspective on life and education, but now I'm
quite open-minded. I never considered anything but my personal experiences. After getting to
know new people, trying new things, learning new things, learning about new concepts, and
going through new experiences, everything changed. I respect and value other people's stories,
regardless of whether they are about personal values, customs, cultures, or spirituality. I was
able to take risks because I had the fortitude to be open-minded. One of my greatest
accomplishments was stepping outside of my comfort zone. Even when I'm anxious or unsure,
I'm now open to trying new things. I joined clubs that I've learned to like being a member of and
that make me feel welcome as I meet new people. I'm now fearless, willing to try new things for
the experience, and unafraid to learn from my failures. I've become more confident to speak up
since I'm not as terrified. I used to be reluctant to speak out for myself or to propose a concept.
But now I can communicate well both within and outside of the classroom. I enjoy speaking up
and expressing myself during group assignments. I also ask my teacher for aid in reviewing
when I need assistance with a certain subject or assignment. I have a strong sense of
self-expression, creativity, and I am always open to working with others. I can communicate my
views both orally and in writing.

I am convinced that I will contribute on a global scale as a result of these four years of
preparation and overcoming obstacles along the way, since I have grown and applied myself to
the IB learner profiles. I envision myself as a well-rounded person who, because of my global
awareness, will be able to handle life's problems. Because I am balanced, I think I have what it
takes to pursue a career in the medical industry. I am aware of the significance of maintaining a
healthy balance between the mind, body, and emotions. In order to assist my learning and
personal growth, I evaluate myself and am aware of my advantages and disadvantages. I
always take care to keep my personal and professional lives apart. I prevent them from
interfering with one another. Despite the occasional emotional instability in my life, I always stay
on task. I always make sure to be responsible for my schoolwork and schedule time for my
family, friends, and interests. As I investigate concepts, theories, and problems that are
important both locally and globally, I've gained knowledge. I gain in-depth knowledge and
progress in my grasp of a wide range of areas as a result. Regardless of how challenging I may
perceive an idea to be, I always take the time and effort to fully comprehend it. In addition, I
largely reflect on my behaviors and interpersonal interactions. I always take a moment to
pause, reflect on what I did, and consider how I may move forward with improvement. I draw on
my prior knowledge to aid in the comprehension of novel concepts.

Global competence, in my opinion, pushes students to learn about the world, take into
account various viewpoints, share ideas, and take meaningful action. It enables people to
progress from learning about the world to changing it by making decisions, performing actions,
and positively impacting their communities in a way that is motivated by moral principles and is
based on integrity. IB learner profiles enhance global competence since it is a multidimensional
construct that calls for a combination of knowledge, balance, taking risks, and being
open-minded. Young people who receive a global citizenship education are better equipped to
think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate with others. They benefit
personally, academically, and eventually professionally from this.
