My parents influenced the development of my gender role in many ways. They probably
influenced it the most during my childhood years; they influenced everything to the activities I
like to participate to the style of clothes I like. I learned most of my gender identity from my dad.
My views on gender roles are probably really similar to my dads, just maybe a little bit more
lenient on what girls should/shouldnt be able to do. My peers influence my gender role probably
the most currently, my style and attitude is most influenced by them. I stay away from girls
because they have cooties so girlfriends havent really influenced me. If I ever become a parent I
will probably teach my kids to have both male and female roles because on the contrary to
traditional belief I feel that it is important for men and women to have gender roles from each
gender. I would like my daughters to not only be able to be emotional but also be tough and be
able to have the same opportunities as my sons and I would like my sons to not only be tough but
be able to be nurturing as well. I would also split the expectations as well for example both my
sons and my daughters would have to mow the lawn and do housework.
