Horseman of the Apocalypse: War

The boy named Conall was in his bed, breathing his last breaths. There was nothing
physically wrong with him, however, he just stopped eating and drinking, and gave up on his life.
The poor thing, humans tend to do this in their later years, but he was a child of six years, hardly
the time to want death to come.
Child, I began to tell him, looking at you, I can see that your life will always be like
this. If you continue to live, there will only be hardship and strife for you, more so than others.
The child looked at me, though at this point I wasnt corporeal, just a consciousness, but
he looked at me like was standing there. I dont wanna live. He told me. I wanna go to
Heaven and sleep forever.
If you simply close your eyes and die like this, paradise will be lost to you.The peace of
Heaven that greets you, but the fires of hell.
He groaned at this truth, not wanting for it to happen. Please, I want to go and sleep.
I looked on him and answered. Then I will make you an offer, give me your body. You
will go to Paradise and rest for eternity like you desire, and I shall live as you from now on.
The boy gave a puzzled look. Why do you want my life? Its hard and no one helps me.
Thats exactly why I want it. I responded. Because I will have overcome great
hardships, and no one will lend a hand. The path you must walk is the path of conflict, but if you
dont want this glory, then how can I refuse?
The remaining light in his eyes began to go out. Are you an Angel? he asked.
No. I responded.

Luis Jimenez
Ive had enough of you! the teacher yelled at me as he dragged me out of the
classroom. I refuse to allow you to come into my work place and patronize me in front of the
class, Mr. Williams!
A good student would usually take a teachers scolding, not saying a word, as a bad
student would probably not pay attention and laugh it off after he had his say. As for me, I prefer
to egg them on, seeing how far they would go.
I wasnt patronizing you; I was being smart and talking back. Theres a difference. I
said with a smile.
No there isnt! He yelled as every class room down the hallway heard him. I am a
relaxed teacher, Conall, and I have repeated told you that you didnt have to like me, but to at
least respect me during class.
I give respect to those who deserve it, I retorted with a smile, And you havent done
anything to earn it.
I am your teacher; I shouldnt have to earn your respect! I loved this. The boil rage
inside his eyes, his clenched fist, and this man was ready for a fight, and I had been dying for one
for ages. What can I say; its in my name, both of them.
And whatchya gonna do about it?
You are going to the principals office right this second! I wont deal with you.
The principal? Why dont you try fighting your own battles?!
I wont discuss this any further. The principal will
Before he could finish, there was a loud shout of joy down the hallway. The both of us
looked down the hall to see the principal run down it, with a big smile on his face. I won the
fucking lottery! He stopped by the teacher and I and started laughing. I wont have to work for

Luis Jimenez
the rest of my life! I dont have to see your stupid face ever again! He then ran through the rest
of the hall and out the door, still screaming like a maniac. The two of us just looked down the
hall, terribly confused.
C-can he do that? I questioned the teacher.
It took a few seconds for him to answer. I-Im really not sure. The bell then rang and
the classes were let out for lunch, the hallways soon filled with students, thus breaking whatever
tension we established between each other. Well just dont do it again Conall, alright?
Ill try my best I said walking down the hallway. I saw all the students were busy
getting to ready to spend time with their friends, not worrying about anything that didnt pay
attention to anyone that didnt matter to them. The hallways were filled with banter, the footsteps
of students hurrying to wherever they needed to, and the slamming of locker. I hate this place,
but to be fair, so do half of the people here. People judging you on one hand, while the rest turn a
blind eye to the kid who needs help. And the one time you do try to help, everyone looks at you
like a punk who wants a fight, even the one who you helped. Seriously, why do I even come
here?
As I walked, I heard my cell phone ring. After looking at the caller ID, I sighed and
pressed the answer button after seconds of debate. Hello Brother Famine. I said with tiredly.
Hey Brother War! he shouted through the phone. How goes things?
Everythings fine over here brother, though there was an incident with a succubus. How
about you?
Im still doing my own thing uh, just wanted to let you in on a few loops.
Alright, then. Whats going on?
Well first of all, Pestilence finally got a body.

Luis Jimenez
Really?
Yep.
whats his human name?
Well its HER name and its Alice.
A female?
Yes sir which begs the question do we call her sister now?
Pestilence was our brother before he or she became a woman, so Ill continue to
do as such.
Sounds go to me, bro.
Were there other things Famine?
Yeah, this ones heavy. Michael showed up and told me about something bad.
Michael? Why would he tell us anything?
I dont know, but it sounded important. Seems like hes telling all four of us about it, so
you better be ready for it.
When do you think I then suddenly remembered the principal running out of the
hall.
Ah I get it now
You get what?
Nothing I said as I began to walk toward the principals office. Famine, I need to
go now so
Wait! Hold up War! Theres one more thing I need to talk to you about!
Can it wait, I need to do something.
N-No, I really need to talk to you about it now.

Luis Jimenez
I stopped and sighed, hopping it WAS something important. Alright, Im listening.
Can I please borrow fifty bucks? he asked pleadingly. I hung up the phone and went to
the principals office.
When I arrived at the principals office, I prepped himself to him. I entered to see, his oak
desk with many picture on them, behind his black leather swivel chair was a giant shelf which
showed all of the awards the school had accumulated over the years. The Horseman let the
principal enjoy such things like the pride he had in his schools success, even if he had actually
accomplished nothing himself. But the principal was gone, and he waited for the jackass to turn
around.
The chair turned around to see the sharp dressed, toe-headed, mid-twenties looking angel.
He smiled pleasantly as I groaned to see my prediction correct. Hello Horseman. He greeted to
the me.
I rubbed his eyes and sighed, Hello Michael. he said. The archangel stood up in and
walked toward me, still trying to be pleasant. I usually was use to this sort of thing. An angel, or
devil, would tell me about the opposite sides plan to take over humanity, or start the End War, in
order to gain favor with him and his brothers. However, it was rare for one of the leaders of these
two factions to make the trip Why did you make the principal of my school win the lottery?
I need to talk to you so I got him out of his office.
Was that the only way you could have done that?
No, but it was the fastest.
I shook my head. It was always something simple for the angels. So what the hell do
you want?

Luis Jimenez
Oh come now, the leader of the angels began in his condescending tone, It has been
sometime since weve talk Horseman, why must you be so off putting?
Because last time we talked you were trying to send the world into thermal nuclear war,
and begin the second coming.
Michael laughed at the notion, Oh please, that was in the past. Also I find it hard to
believe that you, the wielder of the Flames of Conflict, still held a grudge.
I dont Michael, I just thought you did after I almost turned you to ash with said flame.
Haha, of course I wouldnt and you werent that close.
Yes I was. I responded.
No you werent.
Yeah I was.
No you-- the angel stopped himself and grit his teeth. He took a deep breath to
maintain his composer. Let me get back on track. Im here because we have a problem.
Of course YOU, have a problem Michael. You guys always come to me when something
happens. Why dont you ask my other brothers to deal with it once and a while?
For your information, we have informed the other three Horsemen of this problem. So
please keep that in mind. The angel took a deep sigh. It was obvious that it was hard for him to
say whatever it was. It seems that the demons were able to infiltrate the Gates of Heaven.
What? I asked in disbelief. The forces of Hell should have no way to access the gates.
Its literally protected by the Will of God.
Yes, it should but it didnt. They then proceeded to steel a weapon that was hidden
away after the Fall of Lucifer. It was known as the Liberum Arbitrium Formula. I believe that the

Luis Jimenez
demons are using this to produce the new drug that the human have foolishly latched on to as of
late.
You mean Orion? I questioned.
Yes, I believe that is the one. I already have Uriel and a large number of angels looking
into this matter, but they havent reported into this matter, and I fear the worst.
The book worm? I asked. Do you really think he can help?
He is the guiding light of humanity, and is equally as protective of them as you are.
Right, but hes just more of a preacher than a fighter, I mean what will he do in a fight if
the demons are behind this, give them a book?
Horseman, Michael stated gaining frustration, if this weapon is used by the demons, it will
spell doom for all human kind.
I put my hands up trying to calm the archangel down. Alright, alright, I get it. But why
ask us? I mean, isnt this the excuse youve been looking war to start the End of Days?
Normally this is true, I would gladly frame this as an obvious attack on Heaven, rally
my troops, and begin to make plans, but with the Liberum Arbitrium Formula in their hands,
Heavens chances for victory is lowered greatly.
Well shit man, what does this thing do?
Michael looked hesitantly for a second, deeply considering whether or not to tell me
something. Its classified.
Dont bullshit me Michael.
Im not. All I can, and will, tell you is that if the forces of Hell gain full control and
understanding of the formula, both Angel and Mankind will suffer for it.
I rolled my eyes, it was always that way. In the war between the Angels and the Demons,

Luis Jimenez
the Humanity was always caught in the crossfire. It was always the same old story with them,
always a temporary cease-fire but never a lasting peace, and it pissed me off to no end at the
lengths that either side will go to start Armageddon and kill each other off. Both sides had their
own delusional plans as to how they will rule the humans after the war, but since our
manifestation, the Horsemen have able to keep the two sided at bay. Even after many
millenniums have past, my brothers and I are still the strongest as, both Heaven and Hell fearour
power and respected the cease-fire weve imposed. After all, someone had to stick up for
Humanity. I dont know why we have to live with them but protecting is something Ill do
whole heartedly.

It had been five days since my meeting with Michael and things were not looking good
for this investigation. I had already been to three of my contacts from hell,, and everything has
turned up cold. I talked, mingled, threatened, beat the tar out of them, hell I even negotiated for
any information that might have led to a weapon of mass destruction made by Heaven. Oddly
enough, information was way too scarce on this thing as not even his connections in the lower
circles had any information on it or the Gates of Heaven being bypassed; in fact, they were just
as surprised as he was. Luckily for me, I finally got a break when he overheard the location of an
underground Orion production plant that was somewhere in my hometown.
Hopefully I could get some answers there, but I didnt expect much, on the account that it
was run by a human drug lord with a human gang. Sure it would be good to stop the source of
the crap in my town, but to find out where the source is coming from, that chance is far off. So of
course when I saw the mass amount of workers, the vast lanes of shipping trucks, and the great
amounts of security that covered factory I was surprised to say the least.

Luis Jimenez
Damn, how the hell didnt I notice this? Whatever I was going to find, it had hoped it
be an answer of how the hell a devil bypassed the Will of God. I closed in on the factory, making
sure as not to alert any of the humans to his presence. Sneaking in wasnt my strong suit,
unfortunately, I was War incarnate after all. Slowly reaching the center of the base I literally saw
hundreds of humans on the factory floor. All of which were in an assembly line putting the white
fluid Orion in to tiny vials before being prepped for shipping. This also wasnt your average drug
ring, as the entirety of the factory looked completely sanitary. Everyone wore clothing that would
protect them from the chemicals, but there was one thing that stood out besides all of that. They
all look soulless. I thought aloud. Compared to the live and energetic hallways of the school,
everything here felt dead, like a machine that was made, rather than one who was born.
I looked around, trying to find a way out. I had to find the one responsible for this
immediately, whoever did this went far beyond perversions and acts of mad violence, and I knew
this wasnt going to end peacefully. I snuck around heading toward a door that seemed to head to
an upper area, hopefully the he would
Excuse me sir, said a voice behind me. I slowly turned around to see the one who had
spotted him. I expected one of the workers, or a devil that would commonly look over the
workers in situations like these, but when turned around, he saw the sight of a male figure
donning white ceremonial robes and giant white wings on his back. I do not believe you belong
here.
I quickly threw his fits at him, but to no avail as the angel simply dodged them to the
surprise me, for a moment at least. I quickly recover and began shooting the Fires of Conflict at
the nameless angel, and though they missed their intended target, the searing flames melted
everything else it touched. The angel took flight and so too did I, using the flames to propel

Luis Jimenez
himself upward, constantly hurling flaming death at the angel unrelenting his assault; I may not
be able to hit the bastard, but at the very least I was still on offense. Luck finally came when he
hit the left wing, making the angel cry out in pain as he crashed to the floor. I came down on him
and brought him up by the collar.
Why?! I yelled at the angel, furious after the wild goose chase. Why did you steal the
formula?!
I serve the will of God, Horseman! the nameless angel said triumphantly, I am merely
one of his many vessels to--
I punched the annoyance in the face, not giving him the time of day for his bullshit.
Who started this?! he shouted, What devil started this?!
Are you deaf Horseman?! I say my loyalty is to the Lord!
Then why the hell are you selling it as a drug?!
I need not answer to you the likes of you, heathen! the angel cried out.
I gripped the angels neck and began to tighten. You will answer me! You will or you
burn in my flames!
I couldnt keep to his promise, however as two cherubim came from behind and held me
in place. Cherubim ... I hated these guys. They were a pain to fight, seeing a how their immense
strength packed a punch. Unlike other angels these guys had four wings attached to their back,
giving them even more wing power than normal angels and had four heads on their neck, one of
an ox, one of a mountain lion, one of an eagle, and one of a man. Though they had four heads,
they werent the brightest, but these guys were gutsy. Even knowing that they will burn by doing
this, they held on to his arms strong; even I had to give them credit for that. But thats what I
hated about the angels; they were complete zealots devoted to their cause, not caring about

10

Luis Jimenez
whom they helped hurt, especially themselves. The only reason I didnt burn them now was
because he was curious as to why there were more angels involved in this.
Tell me. I said to my would-be captors. Who is behind this?
We serve the will of the Lord! answered the nameless angel. It is by his command
that--
Will you please cut the crap?! I interrupted. I know you idiots arent smart enough to
plan this entire thing, tell me who got you to think this way. AND DONT SAY IT WAS GOD!
Thats enough, said another voice from afar. From behind the Cherubim, another angel
came also in a white ceremonial robe, but the hood wasnt up like the other. His face was a
flawless in every meaning of the word, with blue eyes and golden hair just like his brother. This
guy was an archangel.
Uriel? I questioned not believing his eyes. Youre the guy who did this?
It is as my underling says, Uriel retorted. Its the will of the lord.
This doesnt make any sense! Youre a servant of God!
That is exactly what Im doing Horseman. Uriel looked straight into my eyes. Unlike
myself the other angels do not protect all of humanity, they only protect the weak, the pure, the
just, the true believers. The rest of humanity chooses damnation and get preyed on by the forces
of Hell! How can I sit back and watch this come to pass?
You have no right to say such things; Humanity is protected by the Horsemen.
But what of their salvation?! Can I not help those who choose the wrong path? Can I
not make them walk the just path?
I stopped for a second, thinking that I heard wrong. Uriel did you just say make
them?

11

Luis Jimenez
Uriel sighed at me. The Liberum Arbitrium Formula was made in the event Lucifer
succeeded in his tasks. If Humanity was to fall to sin and could never be redeemed, we were to
use it upon them. By its effects they have no choice but to follow the will of the Lord. I was
dumbfounded by what he was hearing, to take away the freewill of a human being is unthinkable,
but to hear that it was an option for Heaven So I took the formula and made it look like a
devil attack to throw pursuer off my trail, but I never believed that Michael would assign me to
hunt for myself. With the formula, I created the Orion drug, and like my calculations predicted, it
spread like wild fire. It does provide a euphoria, yes, but it is very easy for a human to become
comatose. Once they do they only hear the word of the Lord, and thus lead the lives of the
righteous. The corrupt, become pure, the wicked become just, heathens become true believers,
and all of humanity is saved!

I had stopped listening. I looked toward the humans who were working the factory and
understood what happened. Then all those people working down there? I asked him, already
knowing the answer.
Yes, they were all lost souls that reached salvation through my work. Is it not wondrous
Horseman?
You took away their free will.
I have saved them from the wrath of God!
You took away what made them human!
I gave them salvation! Dont you see?!
Uriel and I glared at each other for what seemed to be an eternity. It seemed that he
wanted me to at least understand his point of view, but I didnt want to understand his twisted
12

Luis Jimenez
view of humanity. Sure some of the angels were complete dictators when it came to their vision
for humanity, but I guarantee you that almost none of them would even consider to take away
their free will.
What a shame. Uriel told me shaking his head, If you would just see it my way, we
could be an unstoppable force.
Dont even talk like this plan had a chance of persuading me Uriel. I spat.
Uriel sighed and snapped his fingers, causing many angels in ceremonial robes to appear.
I looked around and began to count the pigeons Uriel had under his command; including the first
one and the two Cherubim holding me that made ninety-nine. So then Horseman, if you will not
join me in my noble crusade, then I must cast you down.
I had enough of Uriels bullshit, and it was time to act. So the first thing I did, was to
fling both of the Cherubim holding, right at Uriel; hey, I said they were strong, but I never said
they were good at keeping me down. Of course Uriel dodged, but not before two angels that
stood at Urielss side began to rush me in some vain attempt to stop me, so I slit their throats
with the two hidden combat knives I had in my jacket. Are seriously trying to beat me through
sheer force Uriel? I said tauntingly. Do you even remember my name?
As the two Cherubim stood up, Uriel pointed at me, thus commanding his forces to attack
me. Five came at me, with swords forged in heaven, while I stood my ground with the human
made combat knives. First one came and started to exchanges blows with me, and he was was
excellent in his strikes. Another one came from above trying to cut my head into two, but I rolled
out of the way at the last second only for me to be caught between the last three angels trying to
take a stab at me. I jumped out of the way off course, only for them all to be on me again,
repeating the cycle. They were good, but that was to be expected. All the angels, no matter what

13

Luis Jimenez
their position, were trained to be expert swordsman. The level of skill the angels reached only
rivaled swordsmen youd hear about in legend, but even then it wasnt enough. None of them
had the combat experience I had, none of them had witnessed and fought in as many battles as I
had, and it made all the difference.
The first came at me as he did before, but I didnt bother to exchange blows. This one
was obviously proud of his skill and honor, and thought that I would exchange blows as a sign of
respect; so I just ducked and went for the throat. The second came from the top again, but I
didnt need to roll. This assumed that he could slice through the air fast enough, not allowing me
enough time to doge properly; thus having to roll, improperly and get trapped by the other three.
Truth be told, he was right, I didnt have enough time to dodge properly; so I dropped the combat
knife from my left hand, grabbed the blade of the sword with it, stabbed him in the stomach with
the knife in my right, and caught the falling combat knife before it touched the floor. He did have
the speed, but he didnt have any strength in it. The three then tried to rush me again, but the
jump I made earlier was unnecessary. Once again, these angels were all excellent swords men,
but everyone has their blind spots, and these three showed me theirs during the last charge. So I
just went for the blind spots with my knives, and they went down 5. I counted as I took a
breath.
The second that happened, however, another group of five went for me. Uriels strategy
was easy to read by this: He sends in a group of five every time, they work well together, and
dont get in the way. Of course they fight to kill me, but Uriel knows they arent any challenge,
so their purpose would be to wear me down. I may be the Horseman of the Apocalypse, but Im
still in a human body, and prone to exhaustion. Uriel always was a smart cookie. 10. Now
youre probably thing that I should have just used the Flames of Conflict and burned the pigeons

14

Luis Jimenez
to ash. 25. If I did that Uriel would have me waste more of my power on the grunts, and have
him. 42. It was wiser to save my strength for the big boss, and just use my knives to take out
the small fry. 68. Besides 72. even though I was still enraged at that jackass for what
he did 80. I have to admit 95 just me fighting countless opponents with the
handicap of human steel 99 it was kind of fun.
At this point, he was the only angel left, but because I killed then with human steel, the
poor bastards I wasted before were just going back up to heaven. To kill them for good, I would
need metal from Heaven or Hell. Could I have just stolen one for the swords form an angel?
Sure, but Michael would probably give me a hard time over killing Soldiers of the Lord. And
now all that was left was the two of us, the only things that could get in our way were the empty
husks that used to be human. So its down to the two of us. Uriel began as he undid his robe.
Sure seems that way. I said dropping my knives.
Tell me, is that human body of yours tired form that little skirmish? Uriel took of the
robe that hung from his body, revealing himself in full plate armor.
Nah, I started as started to off and fold my jacket, Im just warming up. I finished by
taking off my bandana and shirt, putting them on top of my jacket.
Was that pun intended? He asked me as a bright purging light shined around him.
Of course not. I stated as the Flames of Conflict burned from my body. There was a
difference in fighting the angels and demons. While the latter relied in their deception and
numbers to achieve victory, angels relied on honor and skill to win the day. I say this now
because compared to an archangel, all of those guys are insects. Archangels dont use heavenly
swords; what they have is the Light of God. Its a cosmic power, like the Flames of Conflict, but
it would be more accurate to say that its Gods Blessing made into a weapon. The Archangels

15

Luis Jimenez
uses it as their swords, shields, bows, arrows, knives, spears, and kitchen sink if need be, and its
the reason humans eyes burst into flame when angels appear in front of them. All of them have
this power, even Lucifer and I knew from experience that it is a pain in the ass to go against.
W-What did you say Horseman?! Michael yelled in horror. It was about 1000 Earth
years after Lucifers rebellion, and the angels were already preparing for the return of God. Safe
to say they were disappointed by our decision.
You heard me Michael, we, the Horsemen, have decided to never allow the Apocalypse
to happen. I told him seriously and confidently. We made our decision, and we were sticking
with it though I wish I wasnt the one that had to tell him.
T-The enclave has already decided War, today was the day that we were to march into
Hell and destroy the demons that plague humanity. Today was when Lucifer would be eradicated
form existence! Today is when the Lord
You dont get to decide that Michael! I interrupted, Last time I checked, God left the
Horsemen in charge to herald his return.
Yes War, but with the guidance of the enclave! The Lord left us, the Angels, to watch
over humanity
Yeah, and a great job you lot have been doing, letting the False Gods run about all.
Which is exactly why we need him back! We dont have enough power to
But the Horsemen do. I told him interrupting him once more. This time he went from
horror to disbelief. It was obvious that he was going to take make an argument, but I didnt let
him. My brothers and I will be the ones to look over humanity now Michael. Your kind will,
from now on, only take care of the souls that come to Heaven, the demons will claim the souls

16

Luis Jimenez
that go to Hell, and no one will interfere with the lives or actions of humanity, without our say
so, understand?
He glared at me and clenched his fists as light began to shine around his body. The Angel
was rightfully pissed at me for having the gaul to come into his home and forcibly demoting his
entire race without his consent. But thats why I was here to make him. Tell me Horseman
he began Do you think your power can match the Light of God?
Had I known that the Archangels possessed such power at the time, he wouldnt have
caught me off guard, and I wouldnt have been, literally, kicked out of Heaven.
Uriels fist met mine, and the brilliant light show commenced. One couldnt imagine
what happened when two cosmic forces clashed. My flames and his light slammed into each
other, causing spectacular pillars of fire and brimstone to fly all around the area, as well as
blinding light to shine and illuminating all dark corners. We matched each other punch per
punch, kick per kick, not letting the other through their barrage. While I did have the advantage
of experience and practice, Uriel had a much sharper mind than I. It was going to be a tough
fight, but one thing was for certain, he defiantly wasnt Michael. Michael was faster, stronger,
and more quick minded than Uriel could ever be, and it showed as Uriel began to, make
mistakes. Though our two forces continued to slam into each other like brick walls, it was clear
that I was beginning to win. His final mistake came when he locked hands with me, trying to
make me kneel. I turned the tables and made him kneel instead. Behind him I saw the terrors of
our battle ground, as many parts of the building were beginning to melt from the heat of my
flame. On the floor were many pieces of debris and the husks that were either unlucky enough to
be hit by my flames, or unlucky enough to look at Light of God.
Looks like this game is over. I said, looking down on the kneeling Archangel.

17

Luis Jimenez
I-It would appear so Horseman. Uriel said agreeing.
The Light of God began to fade, and the Flames of Conflict began to steadily creep
towards him. Its a shame, I began, if you had one more angel, youd have one.
Y-Yes, I know that. Uriel Said smiling. Which is why I do.
Then from the near wall, one of the trucks that I passed by suddenly rushed towards me.
There was only a millisecond window for me to jump out of they, and if this had happened
earlier in our fight, I would have too. But with all the fighting I did before and my excessive use
of the Flames of Confilct ... I just too tired to attempt to dodge. I have to give Uriel credit
though, he was the first Angel I met to use such an underhanded tactic.
The truck hit me at full force and slammed me into the opposing wall, doing the damage
it needed. Not being completely human had its perks, so I survived the crash but it was
because I had a human body that at least five of my ribs were broken, my left was dislocated, my
spine popped in four different places, and I was pretty sure that I had a concussion.
The Angel got out of the now broken truck and bowed to Uriel as he approached, Holding
his sword up for him to use. Uriel took it and walked toward me, as I got out of the wreckage
with what little strength I had left. You were correct Horseman, it appears that this game is
over. I looked up at him, unable to say anything without a rib puncturing my lungs, hell I could
barely breathe. He raised the sword ready to end it, many would rather not see when is about to
kill them, but I chose to face it with pride in a well fought battle, even if I was not the victor.
Before the blade could come down on me, his hand was caught by another. B-Brother
Michael!
Hello Uriel. He said glaring.

18

Luis Jimenez
Uriel face was priceless at that moment, the utter fear of his brother was I wanted to
remember for the rest of my eternity if could. W-what are you Uriel tried to squeak out
something, but he was interrupted.
Im disappointed in you Uriel. Michael said snapping his fingers. Two angels then
descended, and apprehended the angel that drove the tuck into me and disappeared in a bright
light.
H-how Uriel once again started but cut off again.
99 of the hundred angels I assigned to you suddenly came back to Heaven, and you were
using the Light of God to fight a Horseman. How could I not find you?
B-Brother, please listen
The Liberum Arbitrium Formula is a last resort brother! Michael yelled at his brother
as he began to break his wrists. Even I wouldnt use it for something as this.
But brother ! Uriel said through the pain.
Enough! Go to back to Heaven, and submit yourself to the Enclave for judgement, or
else I will let the Horseman send you by fire!
Please! Let me explain my
He didnt get to explain his bullshit. Before he could speak another syllable, took him by
the neck and reduced his body to ash. Michael looked at me with a cold, but understanding look.
Well take care of the cleanup War. You should go back home. I would have said a
snarky comment if I could talk.
I began to walk home well walk is a strong word more like straggled home, with
every inch of my body screaming WHAT THE F*K ARE YOU DOING?! STOP!, when I

date, with not a care in the world. They took one look at me, and, of course, started walking
faster. Assholes. I thought. What right do you have to judge me? Youdont know me. You
dont know what I do for you. As I continued to walk , however, the girl ran up to me, leaving
the guy behind.
H-Hi. She started, a little bit nervous, D-Do I know you from somewhere?
The hell? She just tried to run away from me, why did she come back?
Uh yeah, I respond, Im in your class I think.
Oh, right. She said remembering, You were the guy who was got yelled at by Mr.
Rogers, right?
Yeah, thats me. God damn it, this was getting annoying, What do you want?
Well um She held out a card to me ,Im with a group that works with troubled people
uh, not that youre troubled or anything and we help them get their lives in check. If you
wanted, you can come by and talk to somebody.
At first, I thought she was pitying me, or just trying to make herself feel better by helping
someone less fortunate, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that she was
actually concerned about me. Didnt see that one coming.
Uh do you need me to call an ambulance? You look pretty bad.
N-no, its fine I said, suddenly trying to be cool for some reason. Ive had worse.
Smooth past me. Very smooth.
You know, looking back, maybe I was too hard on them. Maybe not everyone in that
school is worth saving, but what if someone like that girl got hit with that Orion stuff. Maybe it
was worth being human after all.
