Dear Education/ Outreach Director:
I am an eighth grader at Del Mar Middle School in Tiburon, California.
What you are doing to save our oceans is highly appreciated by all
coastal cities. I am writing to you to compliment you on how well you
have contributed and impacted this problem. Also I am writing to give
a suggestion on how to raise even more awareness. Your work has
influenced coastal cities and towns across the United States greatly.
Raising awareness is a critical part for coming closer to conquering any
problem. The Blue Water Task Force has greatly contributed to raising
awareness and getting communities involved in this appalling problem.
Also, by participating in state and local government water quality tests
it ensures that the local water is safe for the public.
Surfrider foundation has impacted people all over the United States.
With over ninety-six campaigns and over 250,000 supporters and
volunteers, people anywhere from any age can contribute to this
worldwide problem by educating themselves, donating or participating
in helping the organization. p
I think another great way to raise awareness and continue to alleviate
this problem is to present at schools. Presenting at schools will educate
a plethora of kids so they to can take action and spread the word of
what is going on and how people can help solve this problem.
As an individual, I will continue to limit my plastic bottle usage and
resort to a better option of reusable water bottles. I also plan to
participate in more beach clean ups and inform my peers about this
problem. I also plan to keep educating myself and my peers about
ocean pollution and what we can do to help solve it.

I believe presenting at schools along the coast or near polluted water

will assist this problem because more people will become aware of this
problem and will want to take action. I will to be involved in this
problem by using reducing my plastic use and becoming more
educated on this ocean pollution. I would greatly value any type of
information that can educate me on this problem.
