Chordal Figure: C mi7 = C indicates root of chord / mi indicates quality / 7 indicates extension

above the root.


Roman Numeral: ii-7 = ii indicates tonal relationship [harmonic function] it identifies its place
in the key (- is a short hand for mi).
Figured Bass: ii-7 (6/5) = 1st inversion E-G-B-C with E to C an interval of the 6th and E to
B an interval of the 5th.
