Cameron reliability
Energy savings
Efficient operation
centrifugal compression
Camerons new throat mounted inlet guide vane, designed for process
gas applications, provides precise compressor inlet stream control and
energy savings. Unlike the traditionally used Butterfly value, the variable
inlet guide vane pre-rotates air entering the compressor, reducing energy
consumption when operating at turndown points.
Gas Pre-Rotation
Saves Horsepower
Guide vanes impart a preswirl to the inlet gas flow
aiding in the gas incidence
angle of the impeller.
This pre-swirl helps adjust
the inlet gas flow trajectory
requiring less horsepower
to deliver the rated air flow
and pressure.
Turndown Precision at
High Inlet Pressures
The new throat mounted
guide vane assembly can be
used for applications with
high inlet stage pressures.
Previous high pressure
designs were limited to
less efficient inlet butterfly
control.
