The LeadershipPlenty Institute Announces The Newest Group of Participants in Their
Leadership Training Program Waco, Texas (Oct. 7) Thirty-nine individuals have begun the journey through The LeadershipPlenty Institute. This years participants represent a diverse cross-section of our community, which will allow for a rich learning experience for those involved and ensure that the vision of growing the pool of qualified and trained leaders is realized, Cooper Foundation Executive Director Felicia Goodman said. Todays Actions Tomorrows Leaders first partnered with the Waco Foundation in summer 2011 to carryout the Community Vision Project. In 2004, Waco Mayor Dr. Mae Jackson created the initiative to pave the way for positive community change within the city. Todays Actions Tomorrows Leaders focus on the engage leaders piece of the initiative. The LeadershipPlenty Institute participants experience a 10-module course on civic engagement to prepare them to be community leaders. Esmarelda Cuate-Hudson, facilitator for The LeadershipPlenty Institute, believes the institute prepares Wacoans for success. The Leadership Plenty Institute has really proven to be effective in empowering leaders in Waco, Hudson said. The program builds on their skills and mobilizes them to intentionally enact change in our community. Graduates are making a difference! This year the LeadershipPlenty Institute received many impressive applications, and they were pleased to invite 39 candidates to participate. The LeadershipPlenty Institute has proven to be an effective way to grow Wacos cadre of leaders, Kris Kaiser Olson, Waco Foundation board member, said. These 39 participants will complete the Institute prepared to lead and ready to engage across issue areas.
