Application Guidelines
Description: An award of up to $2500 to support dissertation research in the U.S. or abroad for a
doctoral candidate in the Department of Musicology.
Eligibility: Musicology Ph.D. students who have passed the General Qualifying Exam. Receipt
of the award will be contingent on passing the Special Field Examination.
Deadline for application: Monday, March 16, 2015. Applicants will be notified of the results
by early April.
Application requirements:
1.
A proposal (4-5 pages) outlining in as much detail as possible the specifics of the
research travel (e.g., libraries, archives, or collections to be consulted) and the rationale
behind the research.
2.
A budget detailing projected use of the funds. Include information about any other
applications you have made for funding this project.
3.
Current CV.
4.
Two letters of recommendation, one from the (prospective) dissertation advisor. Faculty
recommenders should send these directly to Alice Meyer.
