Unknown Suspect

INT HOUSE DAY

MARK is walking into the kitchen listening to his iPod. He looks in the
fridge and decides there is nothing in there worth eating.
MARK
Urghh! Nothing again!
Mark slams the fridge door shut and walks back to his room passing
HARLEY on his way. He enters his room and throws himself on the bed.
Close up of MARKS iPod as he scrolls through the different songs.
MARK hears a noise from the kitchen and gets up to investigate. He
sees HARLEY walking to her room.
MARK
"Hey Harley"
HARLEY
"Leave me alone!"
MARK
"Well that was rude"
She walks into her room shuts the door loudly. MARK proceeds into the
kitchen, as he walks into the kitchen he walks to the sink and sees
something strange, a bloody knife.
MARK
What the hell?
As MARK looks closer he sees a ring in the sink as well. He remembers
that HARLEY always used to wear it.
1. Does he report what he found or does he keep it to himself?
Reports what he found.
MARK
(Voice Over)
I have to tell someone about this. But who will listen, I mean I cant
just run off to the police and say I found a knife and my sisters ring
even if it one has blood on it- like they will believe me, besides maybe
there is another reason.
MARK paces backwards and forwards often glancing at the sink. He
runs his fingers through his hair a few times before grabbing his phone
with two numbers (the police and his friend) showing on the screen.
2. Does he report to a friend or to the police?
Friend
MARK hits the call button on his friends number and puts the phone to
his ear.

ELLE
"Oh hai Mark, what's up?"
MARK
"Elle, I just found something, and I need to tell someone!"
ELLE
"Okay calm down, let's meet at the park in ten minutes okay?"
MARK
"Yea, sure, see you then"
EXT - PARK - DAY
MARK walks into the park and sees ELLE waiting at the swings for him.
He walks over and stands next to her.
ELLE
"So what is it you wanted to tell me?"
MARK
(Takes ring out of pocket)
" I found it in our kitchen sink. I think Harley has something to do with
it. This was with a knife, and there was blood on her hand too"
ELLE
(Takes knife and looks at it)
"This sounds very far fetched Mark"
MARK
"That's why I needed to tell someone"
ELLE
(Gives knife back and takes ring)
"I don't know what to make of this. Youre jumping to conclusions
MARK
"I know it sounds weird but I'm sure its related to something bad"
ELLE
"Maybe"
3. Does Mark get killed or does the sister get killed?
Mark
EXT - PARK - DAY
MARK
"I better get back home, see you later Elle"
ELLE
"Yea bye Mark"
MARK goes back to his house and sees Harley walking to the door. She
has her hood up and a bag on her shoulder, he stops her just before
she walks out.
MARK

"We need to talk"

HARLEY
"Get out of my way jerk!"
MARK
"No! I need to ask you something....H-Have you killed someone?"
HARLEY
(Smiling sweetly)
"What do you think brother?"
MARK
"I knew it!"
MARK walks away quickly. HARLEY texts ELLE asking if anything
happened when MARK left the house. ELLE messages back and HARLEY
tells her to meet her at her house.
EXT - HOUSE - DAYTIME
HARLEY
"What did he say?"
ELLE
"He found the knife and thinks something suspicious about you"
HARLEY
"Dammit...I didn't realise he was home"
ELLE
"So what are you going to do?"
HARLEY
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to silence him."
ELLE
"But he's your brother"
HARLEY
"Yes, and thats where the fun begins."
ELLE smirks.
INT HOUSE DAY
MARK walks downstairs and walks into the front room HARLEY comes
up behind him and hits him over the head with a bat. MARK falls to the
ground. HARLEY is stood over him smiling.
Sister
EXT - PARK - DAY
MARK and ELLE walk back to his house and see HARLEY walking in the
door holding a bat, which is covered in blood.
MARK
(Whispering)

"See I told you"

ELLE
"Now I see, so what do we do?"
MARK
"Stop her"
The two walk into the house MARK grabs a knife from the kitchen and
walks up the stairs, ELLE follows him quietly. They burst into HARLEY'S
room she jumps up in surprise.
MARK
Shes at it again!
MARK pulls up the knife and stabs her, she then falls to her knees then
the ground dead.
MARK
We did it
ELLE
Shes deadwait shes dead!
They both shrug and walk out of the room leaving HARLEY on the floor.
Police
INT - HOUSE - DAY
MARK hits the call button on the police.
OFFICER
"Hello what is your emergency?"
MARK
"Yes, hello, I think my sister killed someone, there is a bloody knife in
our sink and her ring"
OFFICER
"Okay, well we do not usually send people out on these kinds of calls,
but there if there is someone near by I shall get them to come
investigate"
MARK
"Thank you"
MARK hangs up and paces. MARK hears a knock on the door and
answers it. A officer is stood there.
MARK
"Thank you for coming officer"
LEO
"Not a problem, my name is Officer Leo Walker. What seems to be the
problem?"
MARK
"This way"
MARK leads LEO into the kitchen where the knife is still in the sink.
MARK

"I saw blood on my sisters hands then came down to find this"
LEO
"Well I shall have a little look, please wait in the other room"
MARK leave the room and LEO examines the knife.
3. Does the girl get arrested or do the police dismiss it?
Arrested
LEO is examining the knife as HARLEY walks into the room, seeing the
policeman she halts. LEO looks up and sees her.
LEO
"Hello Miss, if you would just wait in the oth-"
HARLEY
"How did you find out?"
LEO
"What?"
HARLEY
"He called you! I knew it, I should have gotten rid of him"
LEO
"Well that is all I needed"
LEO walks to HARLEY and backs her into the wall.
LEO
"You are under arrest for murder you do not have to say anything,
however it harm your defence if you fail to mention when questioned
something you later rely on in court, anything you do say can be given
in evidence."
Dismissed
LEO walks into the front room. MARK is sat on his iPOD as he sees the
policeman walk in he stands up.
LEO
"I have examined the knife and it seems the blood you saw was fake"
MARK
"Fake, but...no it cant be"
HARLEY walks in and smiles at the policeman and MARK.
HARLEY
"Hello Officer, is something wrong?"
LEO
"Your brother called us about the knife in the sink"
HARLEY
(Laughing)
"Yes that was for a prank that me and my friend were going to do, but
it didn't work. I was going to wash it"
LEO
"Son, I could arrest you for wasting police time"
MARK

"I sorry. I guess I jumped to conclusions, thank you for coming here
officer and again I am sorry for the misunderstanding"
LEO leave and MARK looks at HARLEY.
MARK
"Sorry for accusing you of being a killer sis"
HARLEY
"You never know"
HARLEY laughs while MARK smiles nervously.
Keeping what he found to himself.
MARK
(Voice over)
"It's probably nothing, besides who is going to believe me anyway. I'll
just keep it a secret and see how things turn out"
2. Does he start to go crazy or does he try to investigate?

INT - BATHROOM - DAY
MARK walks into the bathroom and runs some water into the sink. He
washes he face and dries it looking in the mirror.
MARK
"I've been watching way too many horrors"
3. Does he become crazy or does he take to stalking the person he
thinks is the killer?
Becomes Crazy
(Montage)
INT - BEDROOM - DAY
MARK is playing on his Play station.
MARK
Oh come on again!
He hears a scratching noise down his door, he gets up and opens it but
there is nothing there, he walks back in the room and shuts the door.
INT - KITCHEN - DAY
MARK is getting a drink of water but as he holds the glass to his lips
the water looks red. He empties it but as it goes down the sink it is
clear.

INT - BATHROOM - DAY

MARK walks into the bathroom and looks in the mirror he covers his
face with his hands and when he moves them HARLEY is behind him
with a knife. MARK backs away in fear. HARLEY follows him holding the
knife.
MARK
No, n-n-no dont kill me! Dont kill me! No. Harley what you doing?
Dont do this!
HARLEY keeps moving towards him as MARK backs away. After falling
to the floor he keeps moving.
MARK
No!
HARLEY brings the knife down and the screen goes black.
Stalks Suspect
INT - HOUSE - DAY
MARK hears a knock and answers the door to ELLE she waves at him.
MARK
Elle hi. Come in, come in
ELLE
Hi
He invites her in and they listen to music in the front room he notices
she also has a splash of blood on her hand.
ELLE
"Do you want to watch Saw?"
MARK
"Nah too gory for my liking"
ELLE
"I love gore, makes things more exciting"
MARK
"Oh haha cool"
ELLE
"Well I have to go to the toilet so be back in a minute"
MARK
Okay
ELLE leaves the room; MARK sits for a little while but decides to walk
out the front room. At the stairs he sees ELLE walking down. ELLE
leaves and MARK decides to follow her.
ELLE
Im sorry I have to go
MARK
Oh okay
ELLE

MARK
Bye then
EXT - WOODS - DAY
MARK is following ELLE they walk through a wooded area, MARK keeps
a safe distance behind her but she starts to slow down. MARK steps on
a twig and as she turns around he hides behind a tree but when he
turns back she is gone. He doesn't see Harley stood behind him.
Investigate
INT - KITCHEN - DAY
MARK is making a drink HARLEY walks in and gets a glass of water,
MARK sees that she has tried to wash the blood off but it has stained.
She walks out of the house. MARK follows her. She goes to the park.
EXT - PARK - DAY
HARLEY sits on the swings, she has headphones in. MARK makes sure
to stay hidden. She gets up and walks away. He follows her back to the
house she walks inside.
MARK
(Voice over)
"Well that was productive"
INT - HOUSE - DAY
MARK is in the front room stroking his pet cat, he hears HARLEYS door
open then footsteps down the stairs, when he hears the back door
close he gets up and walks to her room.
MARK
"Maybe something in here will help!"
He keeps looking around her room for clues.
3. Is he successful in his investigation or unsuccessful?
Successful
HARLEY is watching MARK. He looks under the bed and finds a blood
stained bat and sees a knife sticking out of her bag.
HARLEY
"Lost something Mark?"
MARK
(Startled)

"Harley, um, yea, my college work, did you pick it up?"

HARLEY
"Are you sure that's why you are in here? Isn't it something to do with
the blood?"
MARK
"Oh, well...what was the blood from?"
HARLEY
(giggling)
"The bodies of course!"
MARK
"I was right!"
HARLEY
"But who is going to believe you, brother?"
HARLEY'S door shuts leaving them both behind it.
Unsuccessful
HARLEY is watching MARK. He looks around her room but cant find
anything strange.
HARLEY
"Get out my room!"
MARK
"Crap, sorry Harley, I was just um..."
HARLEY
"Out now!"
MARK walks out and goes downstairs, he looks in the sink and the knife
is gone.
MARK
"That's weird"
MARK walks into the front room and sees ELLE.
ELLE
"Hey Mark, I came round and just let myself in"
MARK
"Oh Okay"
MARK
"I dont mean to sound rude by why are you here?"
ELLE
Oh you know I was bored so thought I would come round
MARK
Oh Okay
HARLEY walks into the room smiling.
HARLEY
"I thought I heard voices. Hey Elle, Mark."
ELLE
Hey
MARK
Hi

ELLE
I love your cat its so cute
HARLEY
My pride and joy, we do have another but I dont know where he is
MARK
Can I ask you two something?
ELLE
Sure
MARK
Do you know something about a knife?
ELLE and HARLEY
What knife?
MARK
There was a knife in the sink, I thought you might know about it
ELLE
I have no idea what youre talking about
HARLEY
Me neither
MARK
Oh right, I thought you had something to do with it. I mean I was in
your room before Harley and you yelled at me, but I guess you were
just being you
HARLEY
You were in MY room without MY permission
MARK
Oh, right
