STUDENT TEACHING GRADE: __A
COMMENTS:
[Mari Schoolmaster is an extraordinarily gifted Spanish teacher who seems to have been preparing
her whole life to be an educator. Both her high school Spanish and elementary immersion
|classrooms are ones in which the business of learning is taken seriously, but everyone, including
Mari, seems to be enjoying themselves, feeling involved and valued, recognizing the importance of
lappropriate behavior, high values, and the lesson of the day. Along with her warm, sincere,
\genuinely caring personality, Mari has developed some excellent lessons and projécts that have
lengaged and challenged her students. She is creative and innovative in her designs and is
lcontinually searching for ideas to help her motivate her students. She attempts to vary her teaching)
|methods and to change activities several times a class period so ail types of learners can
lexPerience success. “At the secondary level Mari developed materials and assignments that relate
{Spanish to familiar student experiences, while at the elementary immersion level she fluidly moves
|from Spanish to English and back again when the necessity arises.
[Mari has excellent classroom presence, is poised and very confident in front of class. She is very
intelligent, well educated and fluent in Spanish. Because she has travelled to Spanish-speaking
lcountries she can bring a certain depth to lessons in culture and usage that interests students,
[convinces them of her knowledge and distinguishes her as the teacher in the room. Her classroom
is defined by structure and consistency in presentation, organization in all aspects of the education.
|process, clear instructions, excellent pacing, and high expectations for student performance.
[Mari brings a real professionalism to education. She is mature, thoughtful, and cognizant of the
many responsibilities that accompany teaching. Her commitment is remarkable, her desire to fuffil
lprofessional obligations is obvious, and her behavior is that of a veteran teacher. She has excellent
rapport with her students, fellow faculty members and parents. She truly has the heart, mind and
oul of a teacher and will be a tremendous addition to any faculty, | am very pleased to highly
lrecommend her.
