Catherine the Great was one of the best rulers in Russia in her time which
was why she was called Catherine the Great. In my opinion Catherine was an
Absolute Monarch. I believe this because she really made everyone in Russia know
that she was the leader and she has power over everyone know matter what you
think or belief she has power period. She was really forceful with some people and
really did not believe in her marriage. The Eighteenth century was well known for
their Absolute Monarchs. Back then Monarchs were known as the first servant of
state. She served thirty four years under the throne which is very impressive for
one of the first girls to begin their reign but there were many before her. She was
adored by many people in Russia of all classes and especially by her servants which
is why he was with her for so many years. She showed a lot of originality and more
than all the other rulers respectfully before her. Catherine the Great was considered
one of the most enlightened rulers in her day by not only her but many historians
and many people loved to follow her ruling. Catherine the Great had plenty of power
of her nobles and also plenty of power of the military and their control and use it for
political, economic, and social reasons. Also she had control of the religion of Russia.
She had plenty of censorship to ensure that persons religion is the only religion that
they believe in.
Before Catherine the Great was the ruler it was her husband named Peter the
third before he was murdered by the women herself of Catherine the Great .
Catherine really wasnt a big fan of her husband Peter and has had many affairs
with Peter and as did Peter with her, they were never really the best couple
obviously. But this is how the start of the Great Catherine the Great and her thirty
four years under the throne. She was a Great ruler and did many great things for
the country of Russia but there were some things that she did do that were well
using too much power and abusing that power she had. She has had 22 male lovers
in her life but there were a lot during her marriage which was not appropriate
especially because she was the leader of her husbands own death but that is what
she wanted and felt like she could do a better job under throne and they dont call
her great for nothing this was just the first step of it. She is the longest women to
hold the throne in Russian history until her death at the age of 67. Her time in the
throne was known as the Russians Golden age. She really knew how to really be
involved with all social classes in Russia and really affect people in a positive way
and really made everyone on her side. At this time Russia was known as one of the
bigger , stronger and really powerful in Europe and no one really didnt want to be
their allies because they were just involved in the well-known war called the Seven
Years War. I really believe she is one of the best rulers of Russia ever and really

knew how to manage and rule the country of Russia even though there were many
other Greats before her and also after her.
