A little more about me
This is my 6th year teaching at Gilbert Primary School. I taught traditional 1 st grade for 2 years and 1st and 2nd grade Immersion. I believe teaching is my calling and I have a passion for helping young children grow a true love for reading and writing. Here at GPS I am a part of our Light House Leader in Me team. I love seeing the impact the 7 habits have on our students and how the culture and vision of our school continues to grow and change in positive ways. I currently live in Cayce where I also grew up but immediately fell in love with the Gilbert community and now call it my second home! I have two little ones at home, Maddox, 3, and Molly-Kate (aka Jo) 1 who capture my whole heart each and every day! Every child deserves a champion an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. -Rita Pierson
