Character Profile of Fatima

Analysis
Fatima is my main character, who is east African Tanzanian
and a Muslim. She is 15 years old and attends the local
secondary school, she has interracial friends and also a
boyfriend called Tom who is English. The short film is about
her loving Tom but her Muslim father wants her to have an
arranged marriage. She does not want to go through an
arranged marriage and the film expresses her distress and
worry. She will be a quiet timid character who is respectful of
her culture and religion but, we discover that shes had
enough and attempts to runaway but before she does, kill her
father. The role she serves in my short film is to express a
social realist problem that occurs in our country. Her rejection
of arranged marriage causes her to be unhappy and abused
by her family, also her interracial relationship with her
boyfriend will be portrayed and express a cultural clash which
is a problem for some east African Muslim girls in this country.
