Count to answer "how many?" questions about as many as 20

things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as
many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number
from 1-20, count out that many objects

Students will be
assessed on
the completion
of their work. 3
points for
completed
correct work.
two points for
half completed
work and one
point for a little
to nothing
written.

The water cycle

Students will read a book on the water

cycle and retell the events through dance
created with a partner.
For math, students will use a quarter to
represent a cloud. Using an eye dropper,
students will count how many drops It
takes to fill the quarter until the rain falls.
Students will then write and in a complete
sentence how many drops it took to make
it rain.

These two concepts

can be integrated
because students
first read and lean
about the water
cycle. Since this is a
kindergarten lesson,
students just learn
the basics of the
lesson. Students
then transfer to
math by filling their
quarter with water
and count and write
how many the coins
could hold.
